7 Chapter 7

Alaric’s shamelessness was almost impressive. (1

I smiled gently. “You are also my great love.”

“Can a cold–blooded monster like him love you the way I do? You were supposed to be

mine!”

Just as someone was about to speak, Alaric stepped forward. His face was pale, his voice trembling.

It was his pride, his sick need to win. He was punishing me for choosing a man more powerful than him.

“I must have been blind to you in the past! There is only one Lycan I have ever truly loved in my life, and that is Kieran!”

Those two simple sentences were enough to make the two most important men in my life beam with happiness.

There was a faint trace of jealousy in his tone. He was trying to stake a claim on me, right in front of Kieran.

A flash of hurt crossed Alaric’s eyes. Then, he said in a low voice, “Isadora, I know you hate me… but I’ve already dissolved my relationship with Cassia. We can start over.”

Alaric continued fearlessly, “I’m sure you know how much Isadora used to love me. We had a long and meaningful relationship.”

“Alaric, have you no shame? If you try to drive a wedge between my mate and me again, I swear I won’t let you get away with it!”

When I glared at him in annoyance, he actually smiled smugly. I frowned, “What are you smiling about?”

I continued to berate Alaric as I quickly wrapped Kieran’s hand with gauze.

“I know you must be with him just to spite me, and that’s okay. I forgive you. As soon as you sever the bond with him, we can be together immediately”

The sight sent a pang through my heart.

At some point, Kieran had picked up a wine glass.

“Mr. Rodriguez, this is all a misunderstanding. Isadora was almost my mate once. I was just trying to catch up with her…”

7 Chapter 7

He didn’t notice Kieran’s fist slowly clenching at his side. But I did. I could hear the sharp crack of his knuckles.

Kieran cupped my face with his uninjured hand and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead. “My love… just now, you said I was the only Lycan you’ve ever truly loved.”

Orion quickly pouted, asking with a hint of hurt, “But Mommy, what about me?”

Then came a sharp cracking sound. The glass shattered in his hand, and blood dripped from his palm.

I gently picked the glass shards from Kieran’s hand, my heart aching for him. My eyes began to sting. “Don’t do that again!”

I had always known what a selfish person Alaric was. He was the one who abandoned me, yet he still expected me to remain faithful to him.
