8 Chapter 8
Orion looked Alaric up and down with pure disgust, then stomped hard on his foot.
The thick smell of medicine filled my nose as I slowly opened my eyes. My good friend, Harley Jensen, was sitting beside me.
I stopped coughing and asked, “Where did they go?”
Just as he tried to approach me, Orion stood protectively in front of me, glaring at him. “Stay away from my Mommy!”
Alaric was stunned that I had treated him like he was nothing more than air.
He watched the tender scene of our family of three, his eyes red with jealousy.
My hand instinctively went to my stomach, a flicker of anxiety in my eyes.
“How dare
you tell her to be a nanny? My Mommy is a queen in our home. Who do you think you are?”
The crowd couldn’t help but let out a few chuckles.
“As for Cassia? Kieran had a whole box of broken gems brought in and forced her to eat every single one. When she was on the verge of death, Kieran ordered her face to be disfigured and her pup’s legs to be broken. Finally, he had them both exiled to be the lowest of servants, never to be free for all eternity.”
When Cassia lunged at Orion, I had let go of Kieran’s hand and jumped up to shield him with my body.
I tried to raise my hand to wipe them away. But in the next second, everything went dark.
Harley quickly brought a glass of water. “Relax. Orion is fine. Please don’t be so
reckless next time.”
“Alaric was supposed to be dealt with too, but at the last second, Cassia lunged at the guards, buying him time to escape. Now, your mate and your little devil are hunting him down across the entire territory.”
A sharp, burning pain tore through my back, and my face instantly turned deathly pale.
“Darling, you’re finally awake. If you hadn’t woken up soon, those two devils of yours were about to tear this place apart.”
Harley immediately perked up. “To get revenge for you, of course! After you were

brought to the medical wing, Orion grabbed a silver knife and stabbed Cassia in the back over a dozen times! Everyone was terrified. No one expected a pup to be so
vicious!”
As my consciousness began to fade, I caught a glimpse of Orion’s panicked face, his wide eyes filled with tears.
“Then Kieran investigated everything, and in front of everyone, he ordered Alaric’s hand to be cut off. Yes, the one that hit you.”
Alaric clenched his fists, his chest heaving with humiliation.
“Cassia is just pure evil.”
“And the people who just stood by and watched? Every one of them had an ugly scar branded onto their arm with an iron as a warning. Just looking at it gave me chills.”
Cassia’s eyes were red with jealousy. She couldn’t accept that I was Kieran’s Luna. Blinded by envy, she snatched a dinner knife from a table–a pure silver knife—and charged madly at Orion. “You filthy little mutt! How dare you look down on my pup? I’ll kill you!”
“Orion, you…” I couldn’t finish my sentence before my body collapsed to the floor.
She understood immediately. “Don’t worry. You and the pup are both fine.”
“Orion stood by and watched, clapping like it was a show. That little devil didn’t even
blink.”
“I know what you did. You’re not just the jerk who broke her heart, you have an illegitimate son. My Mommy only has me and my little sister. Your pup has no place in our family”
“A Beta like you isn’t fit to even polish my Daddy’s shoes. You’re not as handsome as him, not as rich as him, and definitely not as good to Mommy as he is.”
At the mention of Orion, I quickly asked, “How is Orion?”
