My ex-husband’s Ch 10

My ex-husband's Ch 10

Not bothering to explain anything, she sat across from Judith and put on a greedy look.

“You want my silence? Sure. I want 800 thousand dollars.”

Judith snapped at once.

“Seriously? You, a cheap slut, want that much? Dream on!”

Sandria crossed her legs elegantly, her curvy figure perfectly outlined by the sleek cut of her attire.

She tucked a strand of loose hair behind her ear, smiling captivatingly.

“What a pity–Florentino is obsessed with me even after eight years. I wonder… If Courtney knows he’s still involved with me after getting engaged to her, will she still help with the Burnham Group’s dilemma?”

Judith’s expression immediately darkened.

Sandria sensibly changed her strategy.

“Mrs. Burnham, you know all my family, right? So, you do know I’m in desperate need of money. I do have self- awareness. I can assure you that.”

For Judith, 800 thousand dollars was just spare change.

It wasn’t a bad deal.

She pulled out her checkbook and signed the check without hesitation.

“You can take the money after you write me a guarantee.”

Sandria took the check with a smile. Then she picked up a piece of paper and a pen from the desk, wrote the guaran- tee, signed it, and even pressed her thumbprint onto it.

Judith nodded with satisfaction.

Just then, Courtney knocked on the door and entered.

“Mrs. Burnham, I heard you were here. I…”

Her expression changed slightly when she saw Sandria.

“Ms. Farley?”

Judith’s eyes flickered as she immediately stood up and walked toward Courtney with a warm smile.

“Courty, I called her in to carry our bags. Accompany me to go shopping, alright? The Van Cleef & Arpels counter

just got new pieces in, and I wanna pick out some bridal collection for you. Don’t turn me down.”

After saying this, she turned around to Sandria, scolding icily, “What are you waiting for?”

The stark contrast in her attitude pleased Courtney a lot.

She smiled, “Tino can tag along. I wanna know his opinion.”

Though she had acted harmless all this time, Sandria, who had dealt with different people over the past eight years, knew it was just her facade.

Judith didn’t have any objections at all. She said with a smile, “You have no idea how happy I am, seeing you two so in love.”

On the way to the mall, the three were just like a harmonious, sweet family, which sickened Sandria so much that she

wanted to retch.

Since she hadn’t handed in her resignation letter, she wisely chose not to say anything, following them expressionless- ly.

Unfortunately, though she wanted no trouble, Judith hated to leave her alone.

When Courtney was trying on a diamond necklace, Judith beckoned her to walk over.

“Sandria, this is probably your only chance in this lifetime to see something this exquisite. Why don’t you take a nice look? It’ll be a memory to live by.”

Courtney appeared very enthusiastic.

“Ms. Farley, diamonds cut this perfectly are almost all from Iazia. The engagement ring Tion gave me…”

Suddenly, she smiled apologetically.

“I’m sorry. I grew up around these since childhood, and I forgot someone like you probably knows nothing about them. Surely, you won’t blame me, right, Ms. Farley?”

Judith burst out laughing.

This was exactly what she wanted–to make sure Sandria realized she could never be a match to Courtney, the daugh- ter of a prominent family. After this, Sandria wouldn’t pester Florentino anymore.

She immediately echoed, “Courty, she should be grateful that you can spare time to explain things like this to her. What does she know about diamonds?”

Standing behind Courtney, Florentino glanced over, his gaze displeased.

Sandria couldn’t help but roll her eyes inwardly.

She said, deliberately raising her voice, “Oh?

“Mrs. Burnham, I may not know that much about diamonds, but I do know one thing–this necklace is just a display replica. Ms. Mosley, how could a rich heiress like you fail to recognize it?”
