Chapter 15
Just as she was about to turn off her phone and get changed, she saw a dozen blocked calls.
She had blocked Florentino’s number, so all his calls were automatically rejected.
Tossing her phone aside, she had no intention of calling him back.
Her role at the Burnham Group had been insignificant, so there wouldn’t be any handover.
The frantic look on his face when she left the mall surfaced in her mind, and she couldn’t help but murmur, “Did that jerk get so furious that he’s planning on getting back at me?”
Just then, her phone’s screen lit up again, reminding her she had received a couple of blocked messages.
It was still Florentino.
Curious, she clicked on the spam folder.
To her surprise, it was neither curses nor threats.
It was all sweet talk.
“Baby, I had no choice. Give me a chance so that I can explain everything to you, alright?”
“Remember how cruel you were to me that night? Come on, don’t stay mad at me.”
“Where are you? I wanna see you. I’ve missed you so much.”
She wanted to laugh.
Today in the mall, he had forced her to apologize to his fiancee.
And now, he said he missed her?
What a disgusting jerk.
She deleted all his messages in disgust before changing her clothes and driving downtown.
Lynette hated private rooms, so she chose a booth by the floor–to–ceiling windows.
At the sight of Sandria, she immediately stood up and waved her hand.
On the table in front of her was a 300–dollar hand–brewed coffee, tough bread, and a weirdly–shaped dessert tower, the rich flavors filling the air.
Lynette was a sugar addict, and she grinned while savoring. Looking at Sandria, she asked, “Is Florentino on board with us starting a studio?”

“We got a divorce.”
Sandria took a sip of the coffee. Without sugar, it was bitter enough to make her tongue go numb.
But it was nothing compared to the bitterness in her heart.
Lynette widened her mouth in great disbelief.
“He proposed it?”
“No. I did,” Sandria said calmly.
Lynette was even more shocked.
Her reaction made perfect sense.
Being her dormmate for four years, Lynette knew better than anyone how much she loved Florentino.
Her love was so humble yet passionate.
To Lynette, she was a complete love–struck fool.
She looked up and smiled charmingly, but the corners of her eyes reddened uncontrollably.
“He’s getting married to another woman and says he’s happy to keep me as his mistress.”
Furious, Lynette furrowed her brows tightly.
“Just how shameless can he be? How could he say that?”
But she was also a bit relieved.

“Sandy, don’t be sad. In fact, I wanted to say this to you when we graduated. Those who truly love you will only want the best for you. But Florentino? All he wants is to keep you to his own. That’s just possessiveness, not love.”
Sandria couldn’t help but think of all those years of sacrifice, tolerance, and pandering…
Her heart ached so much that she could hardly breathe.
She sniffed and smiled charmingly, not wanting to be dragged down by those negative feelings anymore.
“I dumped him. Why would I be sad? I was so fed up with that jerk. I should be thanking his fiancee. I’m free because of her.”
Suddenly, Lynette’s expression changed, and she looked past Sandria’s shoulder.
Sandria’s heart skipped a beat. She instinctively turned around and saw Florentino walking toward her, looking grim.
After being with Florentino for years, Sandria knew him inside out.
Seeing his expression, she knew for sure that he must have heard her words.
But she wasn’t scared at all.

She lowered her gaze and took a sip of her coffee, ignoring him completely.
Florentino strode over.
As she thought he was about to lose it, he paused for a few seconds and then sighed softly.
