Just then, Fulbert asked, “Ms. Farley, since you asked for my help again, does this mean you’ve agreed to my propos-
al?”
Only then did Sandria know this was how he saw it.
But she was genuinely not interested in his partnership offer.
He was Florentino’s friend, useful for her revenge. After her real identity was announced, everything would come to an end.
She wanted no further entanglements with him.
But he clearly thought otherwise.
She quickly said, “I’m sorry, but I’m not looking for a job in the short term. I’ve been exhausting myself working at the Burnham Group these years, and now, I just wanna take some proper rest.”
To stop him from continuing this topic, she smiled and leaned closer to him, trying to distract him.
“Mr. Ortega, we’ll talk after you have a better proposal. After all, right now, I’m interested in romance only.”
Just then, the elevator reached the top floor.
She walked out first.
Therefore, she didn’t notice the subtle change in the way Fulbert stared at her.
He rubbed his right middle finger and thumb together almost imperceptibly.
A better proposal… Interested in romance only… Was that right?
Sandria and Fulbert soon entered a private room. He didn’t say much, focusing mainly on his phone.
Sandria had no objection to that. On the contrary, she enjoyed it quite a lot.
She prayed for the meal to end soon in silence.
When they were ordering, a fashionable young woman suddenly stormed inside.
Her gaze swept from Fulbert to Sandria.
Then she cursed, her eyes reddening, “You bitch! He’s mine!”
With this, she strode forward, trying to yank Sandria’s hair.
Sandria was stunned.

Fortunately, she had come across scenes like this before when she was with Florentino.
She dodged in time and kicked the woman.
Since she kicked with full force, the woman crashed down on the floor.
She stepped back, looked down at the woman, and tried her best not to curse.
“Are you crazy? Who is yours?”
The woman’s face turned pale, her forehead drenched in cold sweat.
Still furious, she pointed at Fulbert.
“Bert, she kicked me!”
Her eyes were brimming with tears, and she looked so pitiful.
Sandria glanced sideways. Seeing Fulbert’s expression, she could tell they knew each other.
So, he had a girlfriend? And he still flirted with her?
Sure enough–men were all bastards.

She cursed him out silently with every filthy word she knew. Just as she was about to open her mouth, he walked to- ward her and stood in front of her.
Then he wrapped her slender waist with one arm.
He said, his low voice filled with firmness.
“I have a girlfriend. Tell my mom I’ll never accept an arranged marriage. Accept it.”
Sandria froze.
An arranged marriage?
Hearing his words, the woman sprang up immediately, her eyes widened as she screamed frantically, her face flush- ing, “She’s your girlfriend? No! I don’t buy it! I’ll ask Mrs. Ortega right away!”
With that, she stormed out, her face stained with tears.
Sandria was still in a daze after the private room fell silent again.
When Fulbert pressed her back in her seat, she finally snapped out of it and asked, “Who was that?”
He shrugged. “That was the better proposal you wanted.
“My family wants to arrange for me to marry her, but I don’t want to. Unfortunately, she’s obsessed with me, which makes sense because–I mean, look at my face. How about this? I’ll help you get back at Florentino, and in return, you’ll help me get rid of her. Romance only, right?”

Chapter 19
Sandria felt momentarily speechless.
Then she said, “Can I say no?”
He smiled, “You don’t have to answer me right away.
“After all, we’ve got plenty of time…”
His tone was soft and undeniably suggestive.
She wasn’t used to him talking like this and couldn’t help but frown slightly.
