My ex-husband’s Ch 28

My ex-husband's Ch 28

Chapter28

Immediately after, Florentino’s broodingly handsome face appeared at the doorway. He froze for a moment when he saw Sandria, then his brows knitted tightly as he opened his mouth to accuse her.

“Wasn’t it enough for you to make a scene at the company? Now you’ve chased me to the hospital–what exactly do you want?”

Sandria’s heart had been stabbed so many times that it no longer hurt.

At this moment, she simply lifted her eyes calmly, pointed to her bleeding arm, and spoke in a voice as tranquil as still water.

“I’m here to get the wound bandaged–the one Mr. Burnham gave me.‘

Only then did Florentino notice the wound on her arm. His brows furrowed even deeper, and his gaze grew compli- cated.

“You…” But then, as if remembering something, his voice turned cold again.

“If you hadn’t hurt Courty first, I wouldn’t have laid a hand on you. You should reflect on your own actions, Sandy. Even if you want to make troublethere should be a limit.” Sandria tilted her head to look at him.

“Mr. Burnham, have you forgotten? It was your so–called pure and kind fiancee who started it. If I hadn’t dodged quickly, the one lying here now, with blisters all over her hands, would be me. So what, is it my fault for fighting back?”

Florentino acted as if he had just heard the most ridiculous joke in the world.

His expression was filled with disbelief and disdain.

“Courty is so innocent and timid–she’d be upset for half a day just for stepping on an ant. How could she possibly hurt you on purpose? She just lost her balance and fell, that’s all. You scheme and act maliciously, so you think everyone else is like you?!”

Every word he spoke was like a poisoned blade, stabbing mercilessly into Sandria’s heart.

Every syllable was unwaveringly defending that woman named Courtney.

Every word nailed Sandria firmly to the cross of a sinner.

Looking again at the handsome face that once made her obsessed and lost, Sandria suddenly found it unbearably strange and laughable.

“Heh.”

A soft laugh slipped from her pale lips.

Chapter28

Then, she could no longer hold back the low, uncontrollable laughter.

She laughed so hard her shoulders shook violently, and tears welled up at the corners of her eyes.

She was truly, truly amused by this man’s stupidity and bias.

Eight years.

She had loved this man for a full eight years.

And in the end, she weighed less in his heart than a woman he’d known for less than eight months!

How blind she must have been before!

Florentino was stung by her crazed appearance, and an inexplicable irritation rose in his heart.

“What are you laughing at!”

Sandria slowly lifted her enchanting fox–like eyes, the last trace of warmth in them now completely frozen over.

“Are you finished?”

Her voice was soft and slow, yet carried a chilling indifference that made one’s heart tremble.

Leisurely, she propped herself up with one hand and got off the cold examination bed, her movements tinged with a lazy decisiveness born from being broken.

“If you’re done, then move aside.”

“Don’t waste my time treating my wound.”

Her arm still needed stitches.

She tried to walk past him, but Florentino grabbed her arm in a tight grip.

His grip was so strong it felt as if he wanted to crush her wrist bone.

“Sandria, stop making a scene!”

Florentino stared at her intentlyas if it took all his strength to suppress the anger that was about to erupt.

His tone carried a sense of condescending charity, as if he were bestowing what little precious patience he had left.

“I can pretend nothing happened today. Where are you staying now? I’ll come find you tonight. Send me your ad- dress.”

His matter–of–fact tone made it seem as if nothing had changed between them.
