Chapter 10
When Liam’s friends saw me, they immediately started teasing him.
“My! Finally willing to bring your girlfriend out, huh?”
“You’ve been hiding her from us all this time!”
One of the bolder ones extended his hand out to shake mine with a happy grin. “Nice to meet you, sis!”
Liam smacked his hand away at the next second. He shoved his friend away, protesting, “Don’t be ridiculous! I haven’t won
her over yet.”
While Liam was messing around with his friends, his eyes were always following me. Such passionate attention was something I had never felt before. It was actually quite a fresh experience.
I found a seat and sat down to watch them race.

When night fell, the youths finally had their fun. Yet, I couldn’t find the familiar face I was looking for. I scanned the group, and before I could say anything, a bouquet of white lilies appeared in front of me.
As I expected, behind the flowers was the bright, smiling of a charmer.

“I’ve wanted to give you these for a long time. They really suit you. You like them, right? You
a lily.”
Liam looked at me with hope, his eyes full of the kind of affection I once longed for.

Bruno had given me flowers before, but they were all fake and never lasted.
I was astonished for a moment, then reached out to accept the bouquet and thanked him. It was the first time I had ever
received a fresh bouquet. I didn’t expect him to notice such a small detail.
Maybe I could take a chance…
But I have everything to lose.
When Liam pulled out the ring he had prepared and asked me to be his girlfriend, I hesitated.
Liam looked a little disappointed as he kneeled on the ground, but he didn’t give up. He put the ring away with a grin.
“I was just joking”
The others quickly dispersed as if on purpose, to leave some space for us.
Under the streetlights, his forced smile looked even more pronounced. For the first time, I found myself at a loss for words.
So, I said, “Actually, I’m really not that great a woman”
Liam froze as he was getting in the car Then, he laughed. “That doesn’t matter. What’s important is that I like you ”
Our conversation didn’t really end that night. He took me home like always and even stayed over, as if he were already used
