Chapter 12
Janice thought I was being overly suspicious. She explained countless times that she and her boss were merely superior and
subordinate.
But I was a man. How could I not know what her boss was thinking?
She refused to quit. Back then, she valued her career more than she valued me.
To teach her a lesson, I gave her the silent treatment for more than half a month. I deliberately flirted with Ivanna via text during that time.
I still had feelings for Ivanna. So, I convinced myself that I wasn’t being a callous playboy by sending her those messages.
One night, Ivanna got drunk and asked me to

So, I continued ignoring her until she finally broke down. Janice sobbed her
ng on between her and her boss.
Of course, I knew she was me the truth. I just didn’t like having men who posed girlfriend.
So, I gave her an ultimatum: either she quit her job, or we break up.
Janice relented and agreed.
After that incident, she seemed easier to control.
We’d been living together for a year when Janice accidentally got pregnant.
At the time, I still hadn’t found a job I was satisfied with. So I told her to have the baby aborted.
After losing the child, she did nothing but cry day in and day out. To be honest, I was a little sick of it. But my sense of responsibility forced me to tolerate and accommodate her.
That year, I met a boss who appreciated my talents. I made good progress in my career, and I eventually gave Janice the wedding I had promised.
On our wedding day, when the officiant asked me if I loved her, I spotted Ivanna in the audience.
My mind was a mess. I couldn’t explain what I was feeling.
That day, Ivanna got drunk and told me she loved me all along.
I felt even more confused Why hadn’t she told me sooner? If I had known back then, I wouldn’t have married Janice.
But it was too late
Eventually, Janice and I had Scott.
He was closer to me than to her and often had heart–to–heart chats with me. Over time, he could tell I still carried immense
regret in my heart toward Ivanna
I told him not to let his mom know.
To my surprise, Scott supported me and told me to go after my true love

He even came up with a plan. He asked his friend to help him fake a leukemia diagnosis report. Janice collapsed upon seeing that report, even though she was a strong and healthy woman.
Scott said his greatest wish was to see Ivanna wear a wedding dress and marry me.
I thought Janice would refuse, but she unexpectedly agreed.
I had complicated feelings about the whole thing. Back when Janice and I first got married, maybe I did love Ivanna. But I had
been married to Janice for 15 years. I felt like I couldn’t live without her anymore.
Still, Ivanna had waited for me for 15 years too. I didn’t want to let her down.
Hence, I divorced Janice. I fulfilled my promise and married Ivanna.
But after that, Janice changed a lot. She no longer cared about me. She didn’t even respond to my messages. That was when I
started to get an inkling that I was really losing her.
And it was only then that I realized how important Janice truly was to me.
I tried everything to win her back. However, she had truly given up on me and Scott.
It turned out that she had

some reason, every time I saw her, I thought of Janice. I hated her, and I knew I
arried but didn’t have a happy life with her husband.
As for Janice, she found happiness. She e even became a renowned designer in the country.
I never bothered her again. I just kept everything that I had left of her and prayed quietly that she would live a good life full of happiness and love.
