2 Chapter 2
That night, as the banquet began, my father raised his glass and excitedly announced, “Willa will soon be married, and I will give her the most profitable commercial territory under our pack’s name as her dowry.”
1
Willa’s face immediately lit up.
Just then, my mother said indignantly, “What about Liliana? She’s also getting bonded.”
My father answered without hesitation, “She is marrying Jaxon. We don’t even know if she’ll survive the first full moon. Giving her anything would be a waste.”
Although I had long known that my father favored Willa over me, my heart still ached to hear him so callously disregard my life.
Tears welled up in my mother’s eyes when she heard this. She was about to argue on my behalf, but I tugged on her arm and said, “Let it go, Mom. I don’t need anything from them.”
Halfway through the banquet, Wyatt arrived in a tailored suit. In front of everyone, he presented Willa with a necklace with a Moon’s Tear gem.
“Willa, this is a gift to celebrate your recovery.”
Willa’s eyes lit up when she saw the necklace, but she still feigned reluctance.
“Oh, how can I accept this? It’s too precious.”
Wyatt ignored her, placing the necklace around her neck and whispering, “To me, nothing is more precious than you.”
Anyone with a discerning eye knew this was a Ravencrest pack heirloom, passed down through generations, and given only to the future Luna.
“Only the future Luna of Ravencrest can wear that necklace. If he gave it to Willa, then what about Liliana?”
“Wyatt and Willa are truly in love. Now that she has recovered, it’s only right that the necklace should be hers.”
“Doesn’t that mean he won’t bond with Liliana?”
I couldn’t bear the crowd’s whispers and left the banquet alone, heading to the backyard.
To my surprise, Willa followed me out.
Under the pale moonlight, she toyed with the Moon’s Tear on its chain, smirking at me. “This was always going to be mine. Did you really think you could steal it while I was ‘insane‘? Dream
on!”
She was wrong. I wanted nothing to do with her.
I just wanted to quietly watch her ruin her own life.
“I heard from Father you’re marrying Jaxon Thorne? That cursed monster who can’t even bond?”

Willa sighed softly.
“What a shame. I won’t be able to bully you whenever I please anymore.”
I didn’t want to waste any more time with her, so I turned to leave.
Without warning, she grabbed my and threw herself into the icy pool beside us.
“Help! Help!”
(
Her cries for help quickly drew everyone’s attention.
Wyatt was the first to arrive. He jumped into the pool and pulled Willa to safety.
She curled up in his arms, crying, “Liliana was upset, so I came to comfort her, but she pushed me into the water!”

Wyatt didn’t give me a chance to explain. A wave of Alpha pressure crashed over me as he kicked me in the stomach, sending me flying into the pool. The dominant force nearly shattered my bones.
I thrashed in the water for a moment before managing to climb out.
My father rushed over when he heard the commotion. He raised his arm and slapped me hard across the face. “How could you be so vicious? Bullying your own sister like this? Go to the confinement room and reflect! Anyone who defends her will be punished alongside her!”
I covered my already red and swollen cheek with my hand and looked at my mother. I shook my head, signaling for her to remain silent.
In the confinement room, my mother sobbed quietly. “It’s all my fault, Liliana. It’s because my bloodline is so weak that you’ve been dragged down with me.”
My eyes turned red as well, but I–straightened my spine. “They don’t love me, and I don’t need
their love.”
Three days later, my mother convinced my for me.

“Thank goodness I saved some money to buy you a dowry. That way, you won’t be looked down upon after you’re bonded.”
I shook my head and smiled. “I don’t care about these things.”
Just then, Willa and Wyatt walked into the store. She pointed at the pink diamond earrings I was trying on and said in a commanding tone, “Those ones. I want them.”
