She glanced around wildly, her eyes ticking between Leonard and the guests, who seemed to be enjoying her downfall. She’d aimed to bring Winona down, but now it was her own reputation in tatters.
Leonard’s reply was icy. That call isn’t yours to make.”
Felicia’s face went pale as a ghost, her mouth hanging open in silent terror.
Wes, it contrast, sneaked a quick peek at Felicia. A small, victorious smirk flickered across her lips, quickly concealed by her long, thick eyelashes that hid the chill in her eyes.
to her past life, it was Felicia who had once coaxed Winona into making false claims against Matthew, leading to his downfall. That had left Winona shunned by her kin, stripped of her Mosley status, and sent away to the sticks.
Felicia had then stepped into the limelight, reveling in the perks of being the Mosley heiress and the admiration of the elite, But now, the shoe was on the other foot. Felicia was the one in disgrace, her family name torn from her–victim of her own machinations
Given Morgan’s keen intellect, it was unlikely that Felicia would be sent packing to the Watson family without a fight.
Winona knew it was smart to play the innocent, keeping Felicia and Morgan in the dark about her role in Felicia’s downfall. By doing so, she’d avoid being perceived as a threat.
Winona quickly stepped in between Felicia and the approaching bodyguards. “Dad, Felicia’s been a good sister to me. I don’t want her to change her name and go to the Watsons. Can’t we keep her here with us?”
Leonard’s reply was immediate and harsh. “Felicia is no sister of yours. She doesn’t deserve that. Get away from her right how. I won’t have her influencing you
Leonard’s face contorted with disgust as he stared Felicia down. “Get her out of my sight,” he barked at the bodyguards. “She’s such a disgrace He then pulled Winona close, gripping her arm tightly.

“Right away, Mr. Mosley, the bodyguards chorused, nodding with obedience. With Winona clear, they took hold of Felicia’s arms and began guiding her toward the exit.
Felicia’s face lost all color, her eyes bulging with fear as she saw the bodyguards leading lier to the door. She had plots still in the works, and she hadn’t yet taken control of the Mosley fortune. She couldn’t be sent back to the Watsons like this.
Felicia wrenched herself free from the bodyguards and rushed to Leonard, dropping to her knees with a thud. “Dad, you’ve got to hear me out.”
She pleaded, her voice cracking, “I’m being set up. I’ve never bullied anyone or taken what wasn’t mine. You raised me. You know me better than anyone, right?”
She gazed up at him, her eyes desperate. “And what just happened, it was all Chad’s fault!” she claimed. “Think about it: I’m young, gifted, and have my pick of great guys. Why would I go for someone old enough to be my grandpa?”
“They’re just envious of how fantastic I am. That’s why they’re spreading lies and trying to take me down.” She reached out, clutching Leonard’s arm. “Dad, please believe me. Don’t send me away from the Mosley residence.”
The guests chimed in, their voices dripping with scorn. “We’re not sure if Miss Watson has ever thrown her weight around, but we definitely saw her face just now. She didn’t look coerced at all,” one remarked.
“Exactly,” another added. “Felicia seemed to be enjoying it.”
Felicia’s panic rose. “Chad slipped me some pills earlier; that’s why I lost control,” she insisted, her voice desperate. “I’m the victim here. Dad, please help me!”
Winona quickly seconded that. “Dad, I believe Felicia. That creepy old man took advantage of her. You should go give him a piece of your mind!”
Chad, his face ashen and hands trembling, rushed to clear his name. “Mr. Mosley, Felicia’s spinning a tale. She was the one coming on to me, even slipped something into my drink and lured me here.
“If you don’t trust me, check the security footage in your living room and hallway. It’ll show she was behind this, not being forced.”
As a seasoned clubber, Chad had spotted Felicia dropping an aphrodisiac into his drink right off the bat. Initially, he’d taken it as one of her playful pranks and hadn’t called her on it.
Now, with her accusations, he was blindsided. He’d worked hard to climb into the upper echelons of society. He wasn’t about to let Felicia’s lies boot him out.
Felicia whirled to face Winona. “Dad, it was Winona who asked me to bring Chad to her room,” she asserted, sure that Winona, whom she considered a fool, would back up her version of events. “Winona, tell Dad, isn’t that what happened?”
Leonard and the guests were shocked by Felicia’s accusation, their eyes bulging as they looked to Winona,
Winona gazed at Felicia with a blend of bewilderment and innocence. “Felicia, I don’t really know Chad,” she replied.
“But you did say you wanted to bring a friend to play a game on the bed. You mentioned it would make Matthew break off our engagement, and then I could keep hanging out with Travis Winona added.
Leonard’s face turned thunderous. “Guards, get Felicia out of my sight,” he snapped. “I can’t stand the sight of her another second.”
‘Damn it,‘ he thought, seething. ‘Felicia’s exploiting Winona’s innocence, trying to tarnish her reputation and turn Matthew against her, all so Winona would end up with some actor.
What was her motive? Is she trying to take Winona’s place as the rightful heir of the Mosley family? Even if Winona’s a bit of a simpleton, she’s still my own flesh and blood.

The bodyguards didn’t waste a moment. They closed in, gripping Felicia’s arms and guiding her toward the exit. The guests exchanged glances, their faces a mix of astonishment and intrigue, as they watched Felicia being marched away.
Once the drama had subsided, Leonard told the bodyguards to usher the guests back to the festivities. He then frowned at Winona, who was still in her bathrobe with makeup that was a bit over the top.
“Winona. Felicia’s not someone you should be hanging out with You’re to cut her off,” he said firmly. “Now, go wash your face. I’m getting a stylist to help you. You’re going to listen to their advice on makeup and outfits. No more going your own
way.”
He had a formal announcement to make at the party about Winona’s engagement to Matthew. The alliance between the Mosley and Langford families was essential, and he couldn’t have Winona’s current look scaring Matthew off.
