Chapter 33
When she got downstairs, she found Alicia waiting for her alongside the wedding planner, and she did a double–take as Antonio hadn’t told her his mother was downstairs.
“I’m so sorry, I overslept,” she apologized and Alicia waved her and dismissively.
“Antonio already told me he worked you up late in the night and that you were resting Alicia stated with a grin on her face, and Zabelle’s cheeks immediately reddened in embarrassment.
Damn Antonio! She cursed in his mind over his lie. Why did he have to go that far? A simple, she slept late would have.
sufficed.
“Look at you, all red,” Alicia pointed out and Zabelle couldn’t help but cover her face as Alicia’s words weren’t helping.
“Stop embarrassing the poor thing,” the wedding planner spoke introduce me to her.”
“Pardon me, where are my manners?” Alicia berated herself. “This is Marceline, Alejandro’s mother and my sister–in–law.”
“I’m so sorry, Antonio told me you were the wedding planner,” Zabelle apologized.
“That son of yours!” Marceline shook her head and Alicia chuckled.
“Come, we have to go out as we have a lot of work to do regarding the wedding.” Alicia stated as she led Zabelle out.
“Have you found out about the information I asked you to investigate?” Jeremy asked his head of security.
“I did, and this is what I was able to gather. The guard responded as he dropped the file in front of Jeremy.
The latter didn’t waste any time in going through the file. He had been curious to know how Antonio and Zabelle became a thing, especially as he knew the former wasn’t interested in a relationship.
He had expected for Zabelle to be broken after she found out about his game plan, but she was thriving and that annoyed him more than anything, especially as it was with Antonio.
The fact that Antonio knew about his relationship with Zabelle and didn’t care just made him more upset.
According to the reports, the company where Zabelle used to work decided to merge with one of Antonio’s subsidiary companies. Was that where they met?
That seemed like it but from the words of those who worked with Zabelle, it seemed to be a different issue as she was fired a day before the party for being unprofessional and trying to get the attention of Antonio
He himself was the one that got her fired. Jeremy clenched his fists over this fact.
So Zabelle was the one who had made the first move on Antonio while she was supposed to be waiting for him, yet she was angry he cheated on her when she was not any different.
The next useful piece of information was when Antonio showed up at her apartment, which was owned by the Garcia family. Was that when it had truly begun?
There was nothing else that was useful, as the period after that was when he had made her known to the public.
So what happened within the one month after he returned? Zabelle herself had confirmed that she was stabbed, which meant that the goons had done their jobs, so how did she survive?

Chapter 33
The fact that she hadn’t called him out yet meant she didn’t know that he was the one responsible for the attack. That was good news but everything else was still unclear.
“Is this the best you could do?” He hissed at his guard.
“I tried, sir, but Mr. Garcia seemned to have blocked us from accessing any more information,” the guard informed him.
“Get out then!” Jeremy ordered the guard, who immediately lef There was no way Zabelle could forget him so easily if she was in love with him and from the way Antonio spoke at the dinner the previous night, he seemed to be in love with Zabelle.
His lips curled up into a smile as his evil brain thought of a plan which was to get Zabelle back on his side and use her as a pawn to destroy Antonio.
It was perfect as it would be something Antonio wouldn’t see coming as he would be too in love with Zabelle and once he got her to destroy Antonio, he would destroy her as well.
It was a beautiful plan, and he needed to act fast while he still had a chance. Without wasting time, he got up from his seat and headed out of the room.
“I think you should go with this,” Alicia said.
“No, this seemed better.” Marceline opposed, and Zabelle ran her fingers through her hair roughly as she watched the two
women argue.
They were currently at one of the shops at the mall owned by the Garcias at a crossroads trying to pick a theme for the wedding.
They were nice and all, but they were perfectionists when it came to such matters, and it was hard to keep up with their excitement
It wasn’t as though she didn’t love their enthusiast, she did, but it was the first time she was around so much energy, and she didn’t know how to handle it
“Wait, let’s ask the bride? Alicia suggested, and they both turned to face her, each expecting her to agree with them. “You two are going to have to agree on it as I can’t choose,” she smartly said, and they went back to arguing.
As she watched them, someone came to stand behind the two women, and her blood turned cold when she saw that it was Jeremy.
What the hell was he doing there? She wondered as her eyes fell on the two women who were clueless about it
Remembering what had happened the last time she had spoken to him, she averted her eye away from him just as her phone beeped.
“Meet me now, or I’ll come over there,” the message was from an unknown number, but she didn’t have to guess too far to know that it was Jeremy.
How the hell did he get her number? She wondered.
The last thing she wanted was him causing a scene, but she was ready to speak to him, as she didn’t want to risk Antonio finding out.
When she looked at him again, her eyes widened when she saw he was already making his way towards her.
She abruptly stood up without thinking twice in a bid to stop him, and the two women turned to look at her.

68%.
“I have to use the restroom. Ull be right back,” she told them, and they nodded. She then made her way out of the shop, and she was met by Jeremy.
“Are you crazy?” Zabselle asked him. Instead of answering her, he burned and started walking until they reached a part of the mall that didn’t have too many people there.
“I’ve been wanting to talk to you,” he finally said.
“There’s nothing we have to talk about. You have a girlfriend and I have a fiancé, Coming here and threatening to cause a scene isn’t something you should be doing, Jeremy!” Zabelle declared.
“I didn’t cheat on you, Zabelle,” Jeremy said out of nowhere, and it took her aback.
“Your parents and mine weren’t pleased about me being in love with you, and they made a plan. After I was sent away. I was. warned not to contact you, or they would kill you without a second thought,” that was why I never contacted you.
“It wasn’t because I didn’t want to, but it was because I couldn’t. Hoved you too much to lose you.”
Zabelle felt her heart flutter as she tried to process what she had just heard.
What Jeremy said seemed to be something her parents and his were capable of doing, as they were outrightly against their relationship from the start.
According to his words, he still loved her. Her Jeremy still loved her!
“After I got back, I wanted nothing more than to come and see you, but they didn’t want that to happen, and they continued to threaten me with your life,” Jeremy continued
“That was why I said all those hurtful things. I never meant any of them.”
Zabelle looked into the eye of the man she once loved and was trying to get over, trying to see if they held lies, but she couldn’t see anything.
However, she was scared to believe him as the pain that night she felt was terrible.
“I looked for you that night to try to explain to you, but I couldnt find you anywhere until the night of the auction when you were with Antonio.
What happened and how did you get involved with a despicable man like him?” He probed curiously, hoping his words would have touched her to the point of giving her the information he needed to know.
“Really? Am I that terrible for you to spoil my name in front of my fiancee?” Zabelle heard Antonio’s voice from behind her. and she froze in her position
