Russo hums and folds his arms over his chest, capping his elbows. “He has the right to know what happened. I know your relationship with him isn’t the best right now but you almost died, Al”
“What did he say?” My throat clenches.
“That he’s worried about you but glad that you’re sale. He wants you to call him anytime you feel like you’re ready. He wants a relationship with you. Russo says and I stare back at him.

Well, he had his chance!
I turned back to the mirror without saying anything more to him.
“Okay!” Isabella said. This little conversation with Russo was so intense I had forgotten for a bit that she was also standing right there.
“I’m gonna head downstairs to check out whatever delicacy Guila is making. This conversation is too intense for me.” She continued as she placed a kiss on both mine and Russo’s cheeks before heading out of the room
“Where’s Leonardo?” I asked Russo, immediately Isabella left in a bid to change the subject in case he wanted to go back to the topic of my father.
“He’s been working all morning but right now, he’s on the phone, checking up on Alfonso,”

Russo nods. “Recovering. He’s okay.”

“He’s fine. They’re all fine. You gotta stop worrying” He presses a hand to the back of my head and rules my wet hair. “All you have to do is on genting bener.

“What’s going on with you and Leonardo? Did the both of you make up!”
He raised his arm and brushed his fingers down the back of his hair, the corner of his lips turning upward “I guess some things were clarified the day Landon kidnapped you. I instantly knew from the look in his eyes and the things he said that what he feels for you is real. Fucking real.”
I twisted back around to face him, bringing my eyes up to his “We did try to tell you, you know!”
“You won’t blame me. You know Leonardo’s reputation. That was the reason you didn’t want to marry him at first, remember? I was just worried he’d hurt you. But I’ve seen that he’s changed. It’s just like all of a sudden, he’s adopted a heart and I can’t believe my eyes. He exclaims and I feel tears gathered in my lash line,
After what felt like ages, I took a huge breath of relief. “Thank you, I murmured
He slings his arm over my shoulder. “We’re family, Al, and nothing can ever break that. Not even if you are now having a romantic love relationship with my boss”
“I love him, Russo,” I admitted suddenly.
Russo flashes me a smile. “I know and Leonardo loves you too. Way more than I thought he could ever love anybody or anything, even his empire”
A small short laugh passes my lips nervously.
“I know you’re still processing everything” He steps closer. “You can talk to me about anything.
I wasn’t there for you as much when we were kids but I want to be there for you now I just want you to know that I’m always here.”
“know” I nodded and stood up to hug him. “I know y you’re going to always protect me.”
He tucked me under his chin and we hugged each other for what felt like a lifetime but 1 needed it, I’m glad we mended our strained relationship.

“Maybe I’m gonna go move in with Isabella because I don’t want to bump into seeing the both of you kissing and shin.” I can practically hear the grimace in his voice but it warms my hear. “But if he makes you happy and you make him happy, then I’m happy, I’m sorry for being angry and obnoxious.

Russo leaves me a few moments later and once my hair is dry and I’m drowning in one of Leonardo’s sweatshirts, Lexit the bedroom. I walked a few steps down the hall to knock on his office door

An overwhelming feeling of seeing him washes over me. I know he’s probably busy but he told me the other day that I can interrupt him whenever I want to and right now, I need to be in his company
He left the bed early today and I woke up alone. I know he’s got a lot on his plate right now and I’d never be angry w with him.
I knocked at his office door gently and for a few moments. I heard nothing. I didn’t bother knocking again. I just stood there waiting. My teeth clamped down on my lip as I dared back at the wooden door.
“Come in.” He finally said.
I closed my eyes for a moment and raised my hand to press down on the door handle. I stepped inside the office and glanced over at his desk. Leonardo has his phone against his car and he looks up at me when he sees that I am the one at the door.
His eyes roamed across my face and my body so quickly, then he did it again.
“Alfonso. I’ll call you back.” He says before hanging up the phone. He threw the phone on his desk as he quickly stood up. “Are you okay?”
I nod my head, shutting the door behind me. Leonardo took a few large steps to meet me and I quickly realized how much I missed those warm. comforting hands on me. “What’s the matter?”
He asked, searching my eyes for an answer. “Is something wrong?”
“No,” I said. “I just wanted to see you.”
Leonardo’s expression drops when he realizes that in o
okay, no longer pent up with concern and worry.
“How are you feeling, though?”
He
tils my chin up and knots his fingers through my hair. “Being bener.” I whisper.
Then he wraps me up in his arms and I collapse my head into his warm chest, inhaling his scent deeply even though I’ve been in his room all day. There’s just nothing better than having him around me like this.
Leonardo bends down and grabs my thighs, before hoisting me up around his waist and I cling to him like a bear. He walks un across his desk before settling into one of his plush leather chairs and I’m straddling him.
