My nostrils flare at the situation and I have no idea why all of a sudden I’m becoming frustrated. My fingers gingerly picked up my fork and I began to eat, all of us deadly silent.
Russo says something to Leonardo about their day tomorrow. I keep my head down and focus on the food in front of me. picking out the salad pieces.
I can feel Russo’s eyes fick from me to Leonardo and then back again.
“Did something happen today?”
Leonardo’s dark eyes finally met mine for a brief second before he looked at my brother. “No.” He grumbles. “Should there?
Russo clears their throat. “I don’t know. This just feels very tense.” He said, side–eyeing me
I opened my mouth and was about to say something when Leonardo blurted out. “I got information back from the network”
“What did they say about the network!” Russo sits up straight in the chair, his interest instantly piqued.
I breathe in sigh of because te tension or whatever he tuck is appening on this table driving me insane
Leonardo draws back in his chair. “Alessandro was able to configure the IP address to a specific network along with the usage of our wifi. Then through the process of elimination, he drew it down to two people.”
“Who?”
“Matteo or Trey
My brows pinch together. Matteo. That name sounds familiar.
“Who is Matteo?” I find myself commenting, without any right.
This isn’t my business. This is Leonardo’s empire and he’s made that very clear.
Russo and Leonardo paused for a moment and I was uncomfortable with the change in the air.
“My brother,” Leonardo said, staring at me.
I glanced back at Leonardo in surprise
Isnt his brother in Italy with his parents? Besides, the message was sent from here with this wifi so how could it be his brother leaving in Italy?
I couldn’t tell what he was thinking or feeling because he had a blank expression on his face.
“Fuck I should’ve known.” Russo said harshly, his voice like gravel.
“Doesn’t he live in Italy?” I asked, still confused about the whole thing.
For a month before I found you, he used to live here. I don’t exactly talk to him and I thought he was back in Italy. I’m wrong. I should ve known. He’s been trying to sabotage me from day one. He’s one of the reasons I left Italy to build up my empire here I’ve already got people to track him so I’d at least know his whereabouts.”

“We don’t exactly know if it’s him yet though. Remember Alessandro said him or Trey.” Russo comments but the look on his face tells me he’s sure of exactly who.
I find myself blinking because, to me, it sounds crazy. Why would his brother turn his back on him like this? There’s more to the story than I know.
“So what’s your game plan now?” Russo asks.
“I’ve got things set up with Alfonso and through that, when we take down Landon, we might be able to bring the mole down too. Whoever he is,”
I lower my head because even though they’re talking about it directly in front of me, I know it’s not my place to ask questions. I should stay out of it. I need to stay out of it because not being involved is the best place for me to be right now,
I just can’t wait for Landon to be taken down so I can go back to hanging out with Isabella. I miss her so much and honestly, I’m tired of seeing the same faces every day.
We sit and eat our dinner in silence. The mood dropped since the mention of Matteo and I know that Russo and Leonardo have a lot to discuss in private, away from Guila ton.
When we were all done, I decided to collect the plates and excuse myself from the counter. Hopefully, it will give them a chance to talk if they re itching to do it.

I glanced down at the small section of my hip that was on show and I saw the purple bruising that was on display. Two of the marks look like obvious fingerprints. For a moment, I’m stunned because I didn’t notice it before but it can only be from one thing

I looked at Leonardo and he was staring at me with a hint of a smile on his face. Now, the dude was creeping me out.
“Im going to bed.” I blurted out.
“See you tomorrow” Russo calls out. Leonardo doesn’t bother to say anything
I take myself upstairs and towards my room, shedding my cardigan and rummaging through my drawers for some fresh pajamas but there are none. I stepped out into the hall and walked towards the laundry room where I found the newly

I attempt to walk around him but he blocks my path and when he bends his neck, I get a whiff of his delicious aftershave. It makes my toes curl just thinking about it.
“Are you okay?”
My head pulled back and I looked up at him “What?” “I said are you okay?”
With what he might have just found out about his brother, I should be the one asking if he was okay, I was thrilled he was concerned about me though. Concerned about a bruise he know he put there in the first place.
“I’m fine.” I said, straightening my spine.
Leonardo’s eyes bore into mine for a long period. Dark and heavy
He then glances down my torso but the basket is covering my hip so he can’t inspect the bruise further.
“It’s just a sex bruise okay? We fucked and you left a bruise. It’s no big deal.” I say under a hushed breath.
I noticed how the muscles in his jaw ticked and when he said nothing more, I walked around him and walked straight to my bedroom. When I shut the door, I press my back towards it, trying to calm my racing heart.
He has my body, there was no point denying how much I enjoyed fucking him but to hell if he was going to have my heart
