Accidentally Pregnant 412

Chapter 412

What? Deal with it then?” Teresa asked.

“Look, I promise you that Cheryl will make it through this. All we can do now is wait for her to come out safe and sound. That’s it, Jennifer replied

Teresa took a deep breath, remembering the big gift she’d promised Cheryl in the car before she

finally spoke, “I just hope Cheryl’s okayNo matter what,

there are two lives at stake here.”

“I hope she’s fine, too,” Jennifer said. “Do you really think I want something bad to happen to her? I’m not that heartless.”

“Alright, enough.” Teresa raised her hand. “You and I are nothing alike. We don’t even handle things the same wayLet’s just talk less, okay? I’m tired of arguing with you.”

Hearing that, Jennifer just stayed silent.

Waiting always felt endless. Teresa paced outside, checking her watch every so often. Suddenly, her phone rang. It was Michaet

Teresa stepped aside to answer the call. “Hey, sweetheart, I’m sorry. Mom might not make it home tonight. You and Aunt Isabel go to bed first, okayGoodnight.”

Just then, someone came out of the operating room. Teresa hung up and strode over as the doctor came out, holding a newborn wrapped in a blanket

“Are you the family of the patient?” the doctor asked.

“We, uh, we’re both her sisters–in–law,” Teresa replied.

The doctor handed her the baby. “And where’s the dad? His wife’s giving birth, and he’s not even here? What kind of husband is that?”

“He’s out of town,” Teresa could only say, gazing down at the tiny baby girl in her arms. She reached out and let the baby’s little hand curl around her finger.

Jennifer walked over, looked at the baby, and sighed. “Let me hold her.”

She took the baby from Teresa with a half–smile on her lips and said to the baby, “Poor thing. You don’t even know who your dad is, and your mom’s not

much better.”

Teresa was speechless. “Oh, so you’re the sensible one? Like you’re not pitiful? If you can’t say anything nice, just zip it. Give her back. I’ll take her to see Cheryl.”

Seeing that, Jennifer just stayed silent,

Holding the baby, Teresa said, “At least both mom and baby are safeOtherwise, one of us would’ve had to take the blame.”

“Neither of us. You’re not even Cheryl’s sister–in–law anymore, so why are you sticking your nose in?” Jennifer shot back.

That harsh remark stung. Teresa handed the baby back to Jennifer.

Inside the hospital room, Cheryl looked pale and disheveled after giving birth. Jennifer gently placed the baby next to her, and Cheryl stared at her child in disbeliefunable to believe that this little one was really hers.

“This is so amazing. I actually gave birth to a child,” Cheryl said, hugging her baby tightly. “Sweetheart, your mom went through lot for you. From now onit’s just you and me. We don’t need any man in our lives.”

Jennifer let out a cold laugh. “You had a baby out of wedlock. No one even knows who the dad is, and there’s not guy out the you.”

Cheryl puffed out her cheeks. I’ll just work hard and raise my daughter on my own.”

Chapter 412

Jennifer’s face stayed blank. “Raising a kid isn’t as easy as taking care of a pet.”

It can’t be that hard.” Cheryl glanced at Teresawho’d been quiet the whole time. “I can always ask you for helpright, Teresa? You’ve got experience Teach me your parenting hacks.”

Teresa gave a half–smile. “I don’t really have much to teach. There are doctors here, and you can always ask Jennifer.”
