Xena forced a smile.
Zion was dissatisfied and said, “Xena also tried her best to save you. Although she wasn’t as lucky as Janie’s attempt, effort is still effort. How can you treat them differently?”
Hearing his words, Eason was speechless.
Although he wasn’t very conscious at the time, he knew that things would took a different turn if Xena and her group had really acted against him.
Xena tugged at Zion and whispered, “Ryan…”
However, her eyes fixated on Eason intently.
Eason had seen all kinds of people. Thus, he immediately understood her intentions. Then, he said, “Even though you didn’t really help and almost got me killed, I still appreciate the gesture. Thank you.”
His bluntness left Xena and the others speechless.
Only then did Jackson finally found Eason slightly more agreeable at that moment.
Janie checked the time and said, “It’s getting late. We should head back soon.”
Jackson nodded.
They had already wasted enough time.

Janie nodded. “Let’s go.”
Xena hesitated. She had finally met Eason and didn’t want to miss the opportunity slip away. After all, Eason was known for avoiding most social interactions. Since Janie was now his savior, she knew Eason s. Now that he considered Janie his
nefactor, Xena knew she had already lost her chance to impress him.
Thus, she had no choice but to give up.
She bowed and said, “It’s truly an honor to meet you, Mr. Eason. Even if I wasn’t fortunate enough to receive your guidance today, this meeting alone has been a privilege.”
Eason nodded.
At that moment, the man beside him said, “Old Mr. Forrest, we should head back now. You need to get your body check.”
Then, he seemed to remember something and quickly added, “I don’t mean to doubt your abilities, Miss Janie. I just want to make sure he is truly okay.”
Of course, Janie didn’t mind.
The man continued, “Miss Janie, may I ask if he is truly alright now? Is there anything else that needs to be done? Would it be possible to get your number?”
Janie glanced at him and said, “He’s fine for now. The chronic issues he has should be managed the way they always have
been.”
The man was anxious. “Do you have any way…”

Eason had been suffering from his chronic condition for years. Thus, now that a glimmer of hope had appeared, there was no way they were going to let it slip away.
At that moment, Emily said, “Don’t be a fool. Janie is just a girl who happened to help out this time. Don’t put all this on her?
Hearing her words, the man frowned.
“That’s right. She doesn’t know anything. Zion scoffed.
Eason was upset by their words. However, he seemed to remember something and didn’t say anything
He bowed to Janie and said, “If fate allows us to meet again, ask for your help then. For now, we’ll take our leave?
With that, Eason and his group left.
Xena bit her lip as she watched them go.
She had been so close. Yet, she had let this once–in–a–lifetime opportunity slipped right through her fingers.
‘Why can’t I have the kind of luck Janie has? If only I had that medicine… she thought bitterly.
Thinking about it, Xena glanced at Jackson and wondered if the Moore Family was some kind of powerful family. Otherwise, how could Janie have so many resources?
Just as they left, the filming crew arrived.
“Where’s Mr. Eason?” the directorasked frantically.
“He left,” Jackson replied.
Hearing his words, the director sighed in disappointment.
After all, Eason was an influential figure. If he could appear on the show, their show would be a buzz.
What a pity.
“Well, let’s get back to shooting.”
They had gone on a wasted trip and were about to head back when David said, “We have already sold out our potatoes. Let’s head back together.”
The director looked surprised but nodded. “Sure. Let’s go. We can restart the livestream later.”
