The crowd looked at Xena with pity.
Janie and Jackson exchanged a look.

Zion was even more convinced it was Janie.

“Could it be that Xena is setting you up?” Zion blurted out, exasperated.

Janie raised an eyebrow, feigning surprise. “Well, well, well. Didn’t think you had it in you, Zion. You actually figured it out.”
The others struggled to contain their laughter.
Zion, humiliated by both Jackson and Janie, was about to lose it.
He glared at Xena. “Xena! She’s twisting everything! Aren’t you going to tell the truth?”
Xena bit her lip. “Fine, I’ll tell!”
She pointed at Janie. “Janie, you pushed me! I wouldn’t even care if you just admitted it, but you’re insulting my brother!”
The mood in the room shifted. Everyone looked at Janie with suspicion.
Jackson was furious. “How dare you accuse Janie!”
Xena hid behind Kathy, pretending to be afraid.
Zion jumped to her defense. “Are you seriously going to cover for Janie now?”
“Yeah, the victim’s spoken. Case closed, right?” Tyler added, looking at Janie with disappointment.
Jackson’s eyes were like daggers.
“Janie, I know you didn’t mean to,” Tyler continued. “Just apologize, and I’m sure Xena won’t hold it against you.”
Xena’s eyes flickered.
Kathy sighed. “Yes, just apologize…”
Janie’s expression remained neutral. “Apologize? For what?”
The Jenkins family was outraged. “You pushed Xena into the ocean…”
Janie laughed. “Are you guys serious? Do you have any proof that I did it?”
“Xena said…” Zion started.
“Xena said? So? I say she’s lying. Where’s her motive? Why would I do this here, of all places? Besides her word, where’s the evidence? Innocent until proven guilty, remember? What exactly did I do? I’m the victim here!”
Janie’s rapid–fire words silenced everyone.
Xena started crying harder. “Just forget it… I must have remembered wrong…”
“Janie!” Kathy snapped. “Would Xena really risk her life to frame you?”
Jackson scoffed. “Risk her life? She’s perfectly fine. She didn’t even get hurt. It’s obvious she’s framing Janie.”
