Emily was the last one to finish changing her clothes.

To everyone’s astonishment, she had chosen to wear a floor–length dress for mountain hiking and paired it with high–heeled shoes.
People were left dumbfounded, yet they remained silent.
They thought to themselves, ‘Oh well, let her do as she pleases!
Only Jason couldn’t help but say, “Emily, we’re going to hike a mountain. Won’t this be too tiring for you?”
Emily couldn’t care less. She waved her hand casually and said, “Anyway, we have vehicles. We can just use them when the time comes.”
Hearing that, Jason didn’t say anything more, but he couldn’t stop muttering to himself in his mind.
Just then, the director’s voice came from behind Emily. “Although we do have vehicles, we’ll still have to walk for most of the way. But if you really like this outfit, we won’t stop you.”
Emily fell silent after hearing that.
All of a sudden, she gave the director a dirty look.
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
So, Emily had to go and change her clothes again.
And it took quite a long time again.
Jackson couldn’t help asking, “Why is she so slow again?”
David was also at his wits‘ end.
Only Janie wasn’t in a hurry.
As it turned out, Noah had already prepared a fruit platter and some drinks. Janie just needed to lean comfortably on the chair and enjoy her dessert time.
Jackson looked at Noah with envy, and his gaze happened to meet Noah’s equally envious stare.
Jason couldn’t help but laugh out loud and said, “That gentleman… Miss Janie’s bodyguard, is really sweet.”
Jackson immediately glared at Jason fiercely.
Jason was startled by Jackson, yet he felt rather confused.
‘Did I say something wrong?”
‘Come to think of it, Noah really seems to be just Janie’s bodyguard. He never showed any enthusiasm towards Jackson‘
Ryan’s eyes grew gloomy.
He could tell that this Noah, who claimed to be “Miss Janie’s retainer“, was at least from some powerful family. However, Noah was always there serving Janie. When it came to Jackson, he only showed superficial respect but actually didn’t care
about him at all.

What on earth had Janie gone through? And just who the heck was this Noah? Ryan was left completely bewildered, racking his brain but still unable to figure it out.
Ryan grew impatient as well and snapped. “Why isn’t Emily done changing her clothes yet?”
Finally, Emily sauntered out slowly and gracefully.
She put on that charming, sophisticated smile of a mature woman. Just as she was about to greet everyone, they all sprang to their feet and took off right away, leaving her with nothing but their retreating backs.
Emily’s smile froze on her face.
She forced out another smile and then hurried to catch up with them.
At the foot of the mountain, there were some three–person bicycles and single–person electric scooters parked there, all available for rent at a fee. The rental fee for the electric scooters was higher, but they made for a much easier ride.
Janie and Jackson rented a three–person bicycle, and right away, Noah hopped onto the front seat.
“Miss Janic, Mr. Moore, you just take it easy. I’ll do the pedaling.” Noah said.
Jackson’s expression softened quite a bit.
‘This Noah sure knows what’s what‘
Then he sat on the seat, feeling relaxed and cheerful.
Janie smiled and said, “Thanks for your hard work, Noah.”
Noah grinned, showing two rows of teeth, and replied, “It’s my pleasure.”
Suddenly, Noah felt a bit of a pity that there was no one around to capture his gallant figure at the moment and send it to his buddies who were slogging away at training.
But then Noah pedaled off like the wind, with Janie and Jackson on the bike. And that tinge of sadness blew away with the wind in an instant.
David chose a single–person electric scooter and followed right beside them.
Emily had originally planned to ask Xena for a loan, but Xena had already left on an electric scooter with her two brothers, Ryan and Zion.
Emily was left feeling helpless.
Fortunately, just then, Jason called out to her, “Emily, come and take my three–person bicycle. I’ll do the pedaling.”
All of a sudden, Emily thought Jason looked rather handsome and readily agreed.
Behind Jason’s smile, however, was a sense of pain.
Jason had actually wanted to ride an electric scooter too, but he was short on money and had no choice but to rent a three- person bicycle. Since he’d already chosen the three–person bicycle and the extra seats would be empty anyway, he might as well grudgingly take Emily along.
