“You heartless little thing, now that your grandmother’s gone, you still won’t come back?”
I felt as though I had been struck by lightning, frozen in place.
“What did you say? This can’t be true! Didn’t the doctor say there was a high chance of grandma recovering?”
“Believe it or not, it’s happening in the next few days. We’re burying her, and it’s up to you whether you show up.”
My mother ended the call abruptly.

a sharp sound. My mind went blank, and tears streamed down uncontrollably.
“It can’t be, it just can’t! How could grandma be gone so suddenly?” I murmured to myself.
Without wasting a second, I called Bravado.
“What? This can’t be! Didn’t the doctor say grandma’s condition was stable?” His voice was filled with disbelief as well.
“I don’t know, but I suspect Jade has something to do with this. My parents say they’re burying her in the next few days, I have to go back and see.”
“Alright, I’m coming with you” Bravado said without hesitation.
We immediately booked our tickets, and the entire journey felt heavy, my heart sinking

Theo froze. “What? Jade killed grandma? How is that possible?”
“I have the evidence,” Bravado said, pulling out a document and handing it to Theo. “This is a medical report from the doctor. Grandpa died from poisoning. Jade was at the hospital often, she had the opportunity.”
Theo took the paper, his face turning pale.
“This… this can’t be. Jade would never do such a thing.”
He had always trusted Jade so completely that he never considered the possibility of her doing something like this.
“The evidence is right in front of you. Don’t you believe it?” Bravado said coldly.

Bravado held me tightly, his voice soft and reassuring. “Don’t be afraid, you still have me. I’ll always be by your side, taking care of you.”
After crying for a while, I slowly calmed down. I wiped my tears and looked at Bravado, my voice resolute.
“Bravado, we have to make sure grandma gets justice.”
