Chapter 146

The room was frozen in shock—Evelyn Fairchild included.

The company wasn’t just filled with men; it was a mix of both genders. If those private photos ever leaked, how would she ever face anyone again? Just as disaster loomed, Marcus Wainwright’s phone refused to connect to the computer.

He fumbled, panic rising—the device wouldn’t even turn on. It was completely fried.

“Were you planning to parade those stolen photos around like some twisted trophy?” Isabella Sinclair’s voice sliced through the tension like a blade.

She had already hacked into his system, the evidence now displayed on the large screen for everyone to see. The files were gone—erased beyond recovery.

“Afraid you’re out of luck. I wiped everything clean.” Her gaze was icy. “But let’s not forget—this office has surveillance. And every single person here is a witness. You might think you’ve escaped, but this isn’t over for you.”

Marcus stood rigid, disbelief twisting his features. “This—this can’t be happening! It’s impossible!” His eyes darted between the screen and Isabella.

Then it hit him. When she first joined the company, she had effortlessly upgraded their security systems. Had she been waiting for him to slip up all along?

Rage boiled over. “You did this on purpose!” he snarled. “You set me up, didn’t you, Sinclair?” He knew the law would come down on him like a hammer.

And it did.

When the police arrived and pieced together the evidence, Marcus was arrested on the spot. His accomplices weren’t spared either—hauled in for questioning, their futures now shadowed by the threat of criminal records.

Silence gripped the room.

Then Evelyn spoke, her voice trembling. “Ms. Sinclair… thank you. If it weren’t for you, those photos would be everywhere by now.” She knew Isabella had just saved her reputation—and the others assumed, like them, she had only been secretly photographed under her skirt. No one knew about the private shots with a client.

The floodgates opened.

“Thank you, Ms. Sinclair! That creep would’ve never confessed otherwise!”

“Marcus and his little gang got exactly what they deserved! Blackmailing women? Disgusting!”

Excitement buzzed through the crowd.

“We owe you, Ms. Sinclair. Not only did you delete those photos, but you also exposed the thief from last month’s robbery. You’re incredible!”

“I—I’m so sorry, Ms. Sinclair. I believed the rumors about you, but you still protected us.”

Respect for Isabella surged. She was sharp, just, and unyielding—qualities that commanded admiration.

Isabella didn’t mince words. “Let me be clear. Some of you might think workplace bullying and petty schemes are just part of the game. But I won’t tolerate it.” Her smile was razor-sharp. “If anyone else even thinks of pulling a stunt like Marcus’s, go ahead. You’ll lose more than just your job.”

The warning struck deep. Those with ill intentions shrank back, fear silencing them.

The atmosphere had shifted. Isabella now held undeniable authority.

She took charge without hesitation. “Evelyn, you’re promoted to team lead. The rest of you—split into groups of five. Prioritize the system repairs, and speed up perfume production.”

Evelyn stood frozen, tears welling. “Th-thank you… I don’t know how to repay you, Ms. Sinclair.”

Alexander Kingsley, who had been observing silently, saw Isabella in a new light. She was even more decisive than he’d expected—effortlessly controlling the situation and earning her team’s loyalty.

She hadn’t just turned the tide—she’d done it in a way that left everyone in awe.

And Alexander had to admit, the more he saw of her, the more captivated he became.

She never ceased to amaze him.
