Chapter 277
“Is Julian okay?” asked Roseanne.
“He’s fine.” Although Anya didn’t like Roseanne, she couldn’t be rude to someone who had come all this way to see her brother.
Anya suppressed her dislike and looked at Julian.
Just then, the nurse walked in holding a bowl of oatmeal. “Mr. Galloway is awake? Just in time. This oatmeal was left for you by the lady who came
earlier.
“Rosalie brought this?” Anya raised an eyebrow, took the oatmeal from the nurse, thanked her, and then placed the oatmeal on the table.
As if deliberately doing so in front of Roseanne, she said to Julian, “Rosalie’s so thoughtful. Come eat. It’s light food because you’ve got acute pneumonía. Our Rosalie is just so considerate.”
Roseanne stood aside, feeling like an outsider, both angry and embarrassed.
She thought, ‘Anya’s attitude toward me is so different from how she treats Rosalie. I am still right here, yet Anya is acting this way. She’s just Julian’s sister; what right does she have to interfere with who Julian likes?
She might be so fond of Rosalie now, but what if Julian decides to marry me in the future? Would Anya still dare to treat me this way?
The Galloway family belongs to Julian. If I marry him, the family will belong to me and Julian’s son. Does she not think about her future at all as my sister–in–law?‘
Roseanne was furious inside, but she couldn’t show it at all. She just hoped that Julian, out of their past bond, wouldn’t let her get too embarrassed here.
But the next moment, her expression changed. She saw Julian’s eyes, which had been dull and lifeless, suddenly light up as if something had ignited within him, making his entire world glow.
“This is Rosalie’s gesture. You should eat it while it’s still hot.” Anya helped flip the chair from the bed and placed the oatmeal in front of Julian.
Julian, who had just recovered from a high sever, didn’t really have much of an appetite, but when he thought about how Rosalie had specially brought it to him, he couldn’t bear to waste the bowl of plain oatmeal.
Roseanne watched the scene unfold, observing the man who should have been high and mighty, above it all, now staring at a simple bowl of oatmeal with such reverence. She felt so jealous that her eyes were red.
A bowl of oatmeal made him treasure it this much. If Rosalie were standing in front of him, would he even have room for anyone else in his eyes?‘ sive thought.
Thinking that Julian once belonged to her, but he was now giving all his care and tenderness to another woman made Roseanne feel heartbroken.
Not wanting to lose to Rosalie, Roseanne felt an almost uncontrollable rage and jealousy rising in her eyes.
Ignored by everyone, Roseanne suppressed her resentment and spoke in a gentle tone, “Did Ms. Talley bring Julian here? Why did she leave without waiting for him to wake up?
It sounded like a casual comment, but she was deliberately sowing doubts about Rosalie in front of Julian.
Anya shot her a glance, sneering, and said, “What’s wrong with that? She kindly brought Julian to the hospital, which is already enough. Does she need to stay here and take care of him like a nanny? She’s Julian’s ex–wife. To be blunt, she’s just a stranger to him now. What do you want her to
