Watching Louis walk away with Hope, Sylvia felt a pang of unease. Just now, her elder brother had looked at her with eyes that were both cold and unfamiliar, as if he had become an entirely different person.
“Dad, what’s wrong with Big Brother? Did I do something wrong to make him angry?” Sylvia asked.
Her father sighed, “It has nothing to do with you. Your brother injured his brain. Once he calms down, I’ll have a doctor take a look at him.”

retorted, glaring at her husband. “Isn’t Noah doing well in it? If Sylvia wants to go, let her!”
Turning to Sylvia, she spoke more softly, “Your second brother is coming back tomorrow. He has a variety show next month, so he can take you with him.”

While this mother–daughter moment was filled with warmth, Hope, on the other hand, was embroiled in a tense confrontation.
As she was dragged out of the hospital, Hope noticed the bodyguards didn’t follow. She immediately pulled her hand from Louis’s grip.
“Louis, what exactly are you planning to do to get back at me?” she demanded.
Louis stood with empty hands, a painful emptiness in his heart. He couldn’t understand what had happened to Hope. She had become like a hedgehog, pushing everyone away. She was nothing like the Hope from his past life, who had tried so hard to please him.

Louis shuddered. He had said these words countless times to Hope, but now, hearing them from her own lips, he felt as if a heavy hand was gripping his chest, suffocating him with the pain.

She was confident that, with this new look, no one would recognize her.
She circled around the VIP ward, easily finding Mr. Hester’s room.
As she reached the door, a vase suddenly flew toward her, landing right at her feet.

Inside the room, chaos erupted. Hope stepped inside, seeing an elderly man with graying hair and bulging eyes, his gaze dazed and wild–a picture of dementia.

A nurse frantically administered a sedative, but Mr. Hester had been tormented by migraines for decades and was immune to painkillers.

With no one else to stop her, Peter rushed toward Hope. She didn’t dodge or retaliate, only wearing a faint smile on her lips.
Just as Peter’s fist was about to land on Hope’s face, Mr. Hester suddenly stopped him.
