Easton had not come downstairs the whole morning. Hope wasn’t really prepared to face him, so after breakfast, she decided to head back to her room and rest.
But then, she received a call from the police station.
After Louis had been detained, no one had made any effort to release him, and he specifically demanded Hope come to get him.
Hope was at a loss for words. If Louis wanted to embarrass himself and trouble the officers, why drag her into it?

Hope wasted no time, speaking directly, “Louis was arrested for drunk driving and assaulting an officer. The police want you to pick him up.”

Mrs. Newton glanced at Sylvia, and after a moment’s consideration, she made a decision.
“Sylvia,” she said, pulling Sylvia’s hand. “We’ll just drive to the police station. You don’t need to get out of the car. Hope and I will get your brother”
Sylvia’s eyes reddened, realizing there was no chance to refuse.
She reluctantly nodded. “Fine, if it means we get Big Brother back, I don’t care if I’m not a star anymore.”
Mrs. Newton’s heart softened. “You poor thing. Once Big Brother is back, I’ll have him invest in a drama for you, and you’ll be the lead.”

The two women whispered sweetly in the back, completely unbothered by anyone hearing them.
The driver gave Hope a side glance, sighing inwardly. The real daughter of the family was pitifully neglected. After finally finding her biological parents and brother, not a single one of them seemed to care about her.

But then again, he could understand why. Sylvia was gentle, kind, and well–educated, while Hope had been raised outside, rough around the edges.
