Hope watched as the two of them joked around, feeling a twinge of envy. In both her past and current life, she’d never had a particularly close friend.
Iris looked at Hope again, her suspicion growing. She wondered if Hope’s medical qualifications were simply a result of some kind of transaction or privilege.
Whether it was true or not–there was only one way to find out!
“Ms.Newton, aside from your ability to help. with pregnancies, I assume you can treat other illnesses too?”

As soon as Hope laid eyes on Iris, she guessed that Mrs. Knapp’s mention of treating a friend was actually Iris testing her medical skills.
“Well, why don’t you check me?” Iris extended her hand. “You’re going to take my pulse, right?”
“Mm–hmm.” Hope gently placed her fingers on Iris’s wrist, her brow furrowing slightly as she studied Iris closely. There was a hint of disbelief in her gaze.
“You have some heart issues,” Hope said with certainty.
Iris nodded slightly. “I’ve had heart surgery before.”

Noticing the hesitation, Iris asked, “Is there something else?”
“I think I need to touch your chest,” Hope said.
Both Iris and Mrs. Knapp froze in surprise. Hope quickly explained, “I have some doubts, and I need to confirm them.”
“You can tell all that just from a pulse?” Iris suddenly laughed.
Mrs. Knapp looked back and forth between them, bewildered.

pressed gently a few times, then furrowed her brow. After a moment, the confusion in her expression faded.
Mrs. Knapp looked like she’d had an epiphany. “Iris, are your breasts implants? And you didn’t tell me?”
Iris didn’t answer but instead calmly watched Hope, as if waiting for her to explain.
Hope realized Iris wasn’t trying to stop her from speaking, so she shared her judgment.
“They’re not implants. They’re fake.”
“Fake? Isn’t that the same as implants?” Mrs. Knapp was puzzled.

The room grew silent for a moment until Iris pushed Mrs. Knapp away gently and looked at Hope with admiration.
“Ms.Newton, you’re much more impressive than I thought.”
“You don’t have a manager, do you?” Iris suddenly asked. “I wonder if I qualify to be your manager.”
Hope froze. If she remembered correctly, Iris was one of the top agents in the entertainment industry–Noah had tried desperately but failed to get her as his manager!
And now, she was offering to manage Hope?
It was like winning the lottery.

Hope waved her hands frantically. “No, no! It’s just that I think you might be a little overqualified for me.”

She hadn’t even registered her own name on Twitter, so she technically didn’t have any fans.
“With me, you’ll have everything you need,” Iris said confidently.
“Hope, now that you know my secret, if you don’t agree, I’ll have to send someone after you, Iris said with a mock threat.

Iris was so straightforward that Hope couldn’t keep refusing. She extended her hand.
“Let’s work together.”
Iris shook her hand firmly. “Let’s do it.”
Since they were now partners, Hope decided it was time to be completely honest.
“My goal in entering the entertainment industry is to make Noah and Sylvia’s lives miserable. I don’t have any particular aspirations to be a top actress or anything, so if you were hoping to make me a leading lady or a top celebrity, you might want to rethink this.”
Hope was self–aware enough to know her limits.

But another goal was also to prove to the Newton family that she could thrive without them–she could be even more successful and dazzling without their influence.
“I’m your manager now, and your goals are my goals,” Iris said with confidence. “I won’t push you to be the top actress, but I’m sure that with me, no one in the industry can slack off!”
After their honest conversation, the atmosphere between them became much more harmonious.
After signing the management contract, Mrs. Knapp had the driver take Hope home. For the first time as a celebrity, Hope didn’t expect that her entry and exit from the mansion had been captured by paparazzi.
