Chapter 6: Is This How You
Climb the Bed?
Hope arrived at school quickly.
She was attending the H City Film and Art Academy, because she wanted to stand under the spotlight–so her family could find her.
In her previous life, the Newton family found her before she could debut, and at that point, becoming a star didn’t matter anymore. She had spent all her time revolving around the Newton family, only to lose herself in the
process.
This life, however, was different. She had one goal: revenge!
Sylvia wanted to be a star? Then Hope would

climb higher than Sylvia, anger her, crush her, and torment her!
When Hope returned to school, there were still about ten minutes left before her acting class.
As soon as she stepped into the lecture hall, she saw a group of girls gathered around Sylvia, showing her concern.
It was a small world–what a coincidence that she had the same acting class as Sylvia!
In her previous life, Hope had been punished by kneeling for “causing Sylvia to fall” and missed that very acting class. By the time she returned to school, she had already become the target of campus bullying. She was ostracized, and her parents not only refused to help her, but to quell the scandal,

they even forced her to drop out.
It seems like the beginning of school bullying is unfolding here.
Hope casually found a corner to sit in, quietly watching the drama unfold.
“Sylvia, I heard you have a sister who went missing for over ten years. Is that true?” A girl with wavy, permed hair asked, her face full of curiosity and gossip.
Hope recognized her–Remi, the campus belle of the dance department, who had been the leader in ostracizing her in the past life.
In her last life, in order to gain the favor of the Newton family, Hope had suppressed her sharp edges and obediently played the part of a well–behaved daughter. This time, however, she wouldn’t let anyone bully her.

Thinking about this, Hope quickly typed something on her phone while still watching the drama unfold.
Sylvia’s expression suddenly darkened. “Yeah, my sister is very beautiful. If you get the chance, I’ll introduce you to her.”
Remi, noticing Sylvia’s sudden shift in mood, quickly tried to cheer her up. “No one could be more beautiful than you! You’re the campus goddess, after all!”
Hope snickered to herself. The campus goddess, huh? The film academy had more beautiful women than she could count!
Sylvia’s nose was surgically augmented, her chest was enhanced, her chin was shaped, and even her thick hair was implanted!

She didn’t share the Newton family’s genes. As she grew older, her looks became less refined, and the artificial nature of her features started to show. But of course, she kept fixing them–surgery after surgery–to make her face fit in with the Newton family’s high–class genes.
No matter how good the plastic surgeons were, after all those alterations, the face had clear signs of being artificially constructed.
From a distance, she looked decent enough, but up close, anyone with a discerning eye could tell she was a walking plastic surgery advertisement!
And let’s not forget how Sylvia had won the campus beauty title. Hope hadn’t participated in the contest, and back then, Sylvia had only ranked seventh. But on the night the results were announced, Sylvia’s

votes suddenly soared by tens of thousands -clearly a rigged contest that anyone with half a brain could recognize.
“Remi!” Sylvia suddenly frowned. “Don’t talk about my sister like that in front of her. She’ll be upset.”
Remi smirked. “Tch, she’s just a country bumpkin. How dare she compare herself to the campus goddess? She probably can’t even afford a mirror to see how ugly she is.”
“Ha ha…”
As Remi’s mocking words echoed, the girls surrounding them all laughed.
Sylvia’s lips twitched as she fought to keep her smile from showing, and she tugged at Remi’s sleeve to quiet her.

“Remi, let it go… I won’t argue with you. Once you meet my sister, you’ll understand.”
“Isn’t she from our school too? You should invite her to lunch. I’m dying to see just how beautiful she really is.” Remi’s eyes glinted maliciously.
Sylvia awkwardly lowered her head, pretending to adjust her hair, but she
deliberately pulled back the fringe to reveal a Band–Aid on her forehead.
“She probably won’t come… my sister isn’t at school today.”
“Oh no, Sylvia! What happened to your forehead?” Someone noticed the Band–Aid.
Sylvia quickly fixed her hair, her voice flustered. “Oh… I bumped into my sister yesterday while looking for her. I accidentally

fell.”
Remi slammed the desk with a bang. “How did you fall for no reason? It must be that country girl’s fault!”
“She didn’t do it on purpose,” Sylvia quickly defended. “When you meet her, don’t mention this in front of her. She’ll get angry again.”
Sylvia continued with a flourish, tears beginning to form in her eyes as she spun the story further.
“Last night, my sister was so upset she left the house. Mom and Dad and my brothers were all worried about her for the entire night. It’s all my fault…”
As she spoke, Sylvia’s tears began to fall, her sobs real enough to pull at anyone’s heartstrings.

Clap, clap, clap!
Hope couldn’t help herself–she clapped, genuinely impressed. “Sylvia, you’re such a great actress! An Oscar–worthy performance!”
“Sister‘?” Sylvia froze for a moment, not expecting to be caught in the act. But she quickly plastered on a smile and walked toward Hope with exaggerated joy.
“Sis, you’re in this acting class too? That’s amazing!”
She reached out to grab Hope’s hand, but Hope quickly pulled away in disgust.
Sylvia didn’t mind. Instead, she asked sweetly, “Sis, where were you last night? We were all so worried about you.”

“Worried about me?” Hope raised an eyebrow. “Why didn’t you come look for me then?”
“We… we asked the gatekeeper of the villa district. He said he didn’t see you leave” Sylvia replied, thinking quickly. “Mom thought you might have been taken in by a kind–hearted villa owner, so she didn’t continue searching.”
Remi and the other girls finally got a good look at Hope’s appearance. Their eyes nearly popped out of their heads.
Hope was beautiful–her face like a blooming peach blossom, skin smooth as jade, her eyebrows long and graceful, lips slightly parted with a natural, subtle smile. Her posture was elegant, like a snow lotus blooming at the top of a frozen mountain!

Impossible! How could someone like this be hiding in the school?
She must’ve had surgery recently! Otherwise, how could she have been hidden for so long?
The truth was, Hope had always been low–key, staying out of the spotlight.
Remi, who hated anyone being more beautiful than her, couldn’t tolerate Hope’s presence. Sylvia came from a rich family, so Remi could tolerate that, but Hope was just a rural girl–how could she outshine her?
With a sneer, Remi spat, “Taken in by someone? Sylvia, you’re so naive. I bet she climbed into someone’s bed.”
Another girl chimed in, “There are plenty of rich men in the villa district. She probably

hooked up with one of them. That’s enough to feed a country girl for a lifetime.”
“Young masters wouldn’t even look at a country girl. Only old men or perverts would want someone like her.”
“Sylvia, maybe you should have your parents take her to the hospital for a checkup. You don’t want to catch any diseases from her.”
The girls didn’t seem to care about anyone’s feelings, laughing as they continued to mock her. Sylvia didn’t stop them; instead, she lowered her head, hiding the smile she couldn’t quite suppress.
Hope rubbed her ear, her patience running thin. “Are you done?”

“We didn’t say anything wrong–ah!” Remi’s words were cut off as Hope slapped her hard across the face.
“You dare hit me!”
Slap.
Another slap, this time making Remi’s mouth twist and her eyes turn red with anger. Yet, she didn’t dare say another word.
“Sis, how could you hit someone?” Sylvia finally looked up.
“Oh? You’re still alive?” Hope’s voice was dripping with sarcasm. “When those girls were slandering me and tarnishing the Newton family’s name, where were you? Playing deaf?”
Hope ripped Sylvia’s fake mask to shreds,

and Sylvia blushed with embarrassment, but she quickly found her words.
“They were just joking around. But you? You shouldn’t hit people like that. Remi is different from me. She won’t let this go.”
Remi, reminded of the situation, regained her brashness.
“You country bumpkin! You dare hit me? Just wait for your expulsion!”
