Luna’s words implied that I was part of the family, while Tracy was an outsider.
Tracy’s face turned pale, and she stiffly agreed.
After she left, I handed the gift bag to Luna. “Mrs. Connor, these are the wedding gifts you gave me earlier. Please check them. If you don’t trust me, I can accompany you to the jewelry store to verify.”
“What are you doing? Once I give a gift, I never take it back.” Luna refused to accept, pushing it back to me.
I insisted, “Frank and I have broken up. These don’t belong to me.” I added, “As for the gifts Frank gave to my parents, they will return them as well.”
But those gifts weren’t as valuable as the diamonds, so my parents would return them via courier.
Luna gasped, “Is it really over between you two? You were so eager for my approval for Frank to marry you before.”
I smiled bitterly and shook my head, brushing it off. “Consider it me being young and naive at the time.”
After saying that, I felt a burning gaze on me.
I turned around and saw Frank standing behind me.
His face was pale, his expression desolate.
All the happiness in the past had completely vanished at this moment.
I felt relieved, giving a light smile. “Sorry for troubling you. I’ll be leaving now.”
I turned and left, not looking back at him.

Frank followed me out, his eyes red as he demanded, “What did you mean by that just now? What do you mean by ‘consider it me being young and naive‘?”
“Exactly what it sounds like, can’t you understand?” I said coldly, glancing at Tracy, who was standing at the door and added indifferently. “If you don’t get it, ask her. She’d probably be happy to explain.”
He looked back at Tracy, his eyes flickering with panic. “It’s not what you think. I just came home to get
something. I’m heading back to the lab later. She happened to come by…”

After the Misery, I Found My Smile
He was stunned, his eyes filled with confusion.

I laughed sarcastically, “You still don’t get it. Sometimes I really doubt, do you even know what love is? Or do you just love yourself more?”
“Eve, I love you more than anyone else knows…”
“But I don’t feel it,” I impatiently interrupted him. “Don’t say such things easily in the future. It only makes your love seem very cheap.
“You better comfort Tracy. She’s about to stare a hole through me.
“Also, don’t invite me to your wedding, and don’t tell me about it. Being near you brings misfortune.”
I kept voicing my true feelings, and after saying that, I didn’t look back and left directly.
How much I cared for him before, now I feel that much more disgusted by him.
“Unfaithful love is like rotten garbage. It will stink sooner or later.”
