Grace smiled gently. “I know, you’re a good girl.”
Tessa gave her a quick hug and went upstairs.
Once her figure disappeared on the second floor, Arnold finally couldn’t hold back.
“Madam, why didn’t you tell Miss Tessa that Miss Aurora is unconscious in the hospital?”
In front of the butler, Grace seemed to let down all her burdens, exhaling deeply.
“You don’t understand. One more person knowing won’t help anything.”

She looked conflicted. “Besides, even if Tessa knew, it wouldn’t change anything. What matters most right now is figuring out what caused Aurora to fall unconscious.”
Arnold thought for a moment and realized she was right.
Even if Tessa found out, she wouldn’t be able to help.
It would only add one more person to worry about.
It wouldn’t accomplish much.
Alright then, Madam. If there’s anything you need me to do, just say the word.”
Grace nodded. “Go to First Light Hospital and have them do a full–body examination for Aurora. We need to know exactly what’s going on.”
“Understood. I’ll take care of it right away.”
Without delay, Arnold left to drive to the hospital.
The worry on Grace’s face, however, didn’t fade.
She couldn’t help but clench her hands, anxiety washing over her.
Had she put too much pressure on Aurora?
That child had always been so sensible.
While she herself was unwell these days, Aurora had taken on everything, inside and out.
And she was still just a girl in her twenties.
Thinking that, Grace’s grip tightened, her heart aching even more.
It was true that she had been too strict with Aurora.
Once she woke up this time, Grace made a firm decision.
She would give her more freedom, and not keep her confined within the company any longer.
Grace gave her whole life to the company and married a man who didn’t love her.
She didn’t want her children to live that kind of life.
Thinking of her husband–that ridiculous marriage–Grace’s hands clenched tighter.
If it hadn’t been for that man, for William Walton, she wouldn’t have been trapped in Walton Corporation all these years.
Her entire life had been sacrificed for the company.

She acted like she cared about Aurora, but when something truly happened, she just sat at home and sent an old man to handle it?
Was that real concern or just for show?
She truly couldn’t make sense of this household anymore.
