Lucas didn’t return Grace’s calls.
Instead, he went to the door and opened it directly.
The moment he saw Tessa, his expression turned cold.
“You?”
This woman clung like a leech–wherever he went, there she was.
Back in Ravenshore, she’d already been acting strange.
Now she’d even followed him here.
It was getting harder for Lucas not to be suspicious.
Tessa simply smiled and held up her phone. “I’m not the one
looking for you. Mom is.
“My dear brother–in–law, since you won’t answer her calls, she had no choice but to ring me instead.”
Lucas froze slightly at that.
He’d been planning to call Grace back in a bit.
He hadn’t expected her to contact Tessa so quickly, or for Tessa to bring her phone straight to him.
Why did all of this feel so planned?
He narrowed his eyes and stared silently at Tessa, trying to figure out what she was really up to.
But before he could speak, Grace’s voice came through the phone in Tessa’s hand.
