Chapter 35
I was invited to a fashion exhibit for a high–end clothing brand as an artist. The theme of this year’s exhibit was wedding dresses. I worked closely with the fashion designer, Merida, despite the fact that she lived across the kingdom. I drew most of her designs and she created them.
I also am a huge asset when it comes to keeping her business alive and operational. In a way, this was basically my show too. I was excited to be a part of something so elegant and retro. We only created the best designs and almost all celebrities wore our clothing.
As I reached the exhibit, I was instantly greeted by Merida. She was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. She had long blonde hair that reminded me of the color of caramel. Her features were fair and yet bright with life. She wore light makeup because she didn’t need much of it. She was currently wearing a beautiful pink blouse that hugged her thin figure perfectly, along with a black skirt that brought out the roundness of her thighs.
She smiled at me as I entered the exhibit and hugged me fo haven’t seen her in a long time. Merida lives across the kingdom, but she opens exhibits around the kingdom. This year’s exhibit happens to be in the King’s pack and everybody who is anybody would be fighting to get tickets for this event. Despite how expensive the tickets were.
“I’m so glad you made it!” Merida said with a smile; she looked at Rita and hugged her as well. “Both of you!”
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world,” I told her, returning her smile.
The exhibit was gorgeous with all the high–end fashion designs across the marble flooring. The crystal chandelier lighting made everything sparkle and look even more elegant. It was already and everyone was shoving past one another. In the center of the exhibit was a large runway where the show was going to take place.
Merida escorted me to the back of the exhibit, behind the runway. There were already a bunch of gorgeous and tall models trying on their gowns for when they walk the runway. I still couldn’t believe that Merida wanted me to be one of her models. She says I have the perfect body for the featured wedding dress.
The dress was gorgeous; it had white flowers down the sides as decals. The dress hugged my body perfectly and expanded around my waist. The silky fabrics fell around my feet and flowed lightly around the ground. Merida had some of her people fix my hair; curling it and throwing it into a delicate bun with strands that went down the sides of my face. She placed a white–flowered grown around the bun that matched the dress.
I stared for a long while in the mirror, in awe of my own appearance. I have never been one to find myself beautiful, but at that moment, I felt gorgeous.
“Wow!” Rita breathed from beside me. “You look like a princess.”
We both laughed.
“Well, I’m not Mariana the princess,” I told her with a smile. “I’m Anna the artist.”
“I can’t believe you actually designed this dress yourself,” Rita said, staring around the flowers of my dress. “It’s beautiful.”
“Thanks,” I said, smiling at her. “I wish I could take credit for the stitch work and the overall outcome though. But it’s all Merida.”
“But you drew it!” Rita reminded me. “You are the best artist in the kingdom, honestly.”
I went to respond to her with a chuckle, but Alice’s voice cut through my thoughts.
“He’s here…” Alice said hoarsely. I frowned and tried not to look bothered, but Rita could read my face.
“What’s wrong?” She asked.
I shook my head and gave her my best fake smile.
“Nothing,” I lied.
“Anna, you’re up!” Merida said as she walked into the back room. Her eyes lit up as soon as she saw me, and she looked like she wanted to cry. “Oh my moon goddess,” she breathed. “You look beautiful. Does it fit alright?”
“it’s perfect,” I told her. “Just how I imagined it would be. You created it beautifully, like always.”
“I wouldn’t be able to create anything without your designs,” Merida said.
I poked my head through the curtains and instantly saw Ella, Tina, and Joseph sitting in the front row.
“Why do they have to be here?” Alice complained.
“We just ignore them,” I told her.

I watched as the lights dimmed around the exhibit and the colored spotlight shined down onto the runway.
“Are you ready?” Merida asked; she made some minor adjustments to my dress before giving me the ckay to start walking.
I took in a deep breath before stepping onto the runway.
I heard some gasps as I began walking.
