Damien’s pov.
She’s beautiful. The most breathtaking woman I’ve ever seen. Or maybe it’s just the mate bond playing tricks on me, because she’s the first to make my heart race this way. And believe me, I’ve encountered my fair share of stunning women, yet none have ever made me feel like this, so out of control
“Our mate! Who would have imagined we’d find her after searching for so many years!” Cairos practically wags his tail like an overexcited pup, and I internally roll my eyes.
“Calm down. Romeo,” I snap. “Can’t you see! She already looks like she hates us. And in case you’ve forgotten, she was about to slash her throat five minutes ago. Something tells me she’s not exactly thrilled about the whole ‘mate‘ situation.”
The thought of rejecting her crosses my mind for a second, but Cairos growls a warning in my head. This time, I actually roll my eyes
Still, the question rags at me. What was her relationship with Lucian! And what kind of hell did she endure in that damned pack to make her want to take her own life! Then again, it’s the Moonfang park we’re talking about–uncivilized brutes with brains the size of peanuts. Honestly, expecting anything decent from them is like expecting a rock to sprout wings and fly.
“Forget all that, but I must know what your identity and relationship with Lucian is,” 1 ask curiously. Almost immediately, I see the hate in her once- cold eyes, a hatred bom deep within her.
Oh yes, she’s definitely involved with Lucian. I smirk and lean closer to her, barely able to wait for the information from Lucas any longer. I want to hear the story from her, maybe even catch some curses along the way. She’ll probably be cute when she curses
“I have to know if you’re a spy or not, and I also need to know why his beta said you were a criminal if you intend to stay here. I am sure there is a Juicy story behind everything.”
“I am nothing to Alpha Lucian, and 1 am not a spy either. I do not intend to stay here, but thank you for helping me. I will leave now.” She replies, and I frown as I rest my head on my hand, watching her leave
Well, there goes my entertainment.
“Are you really going to let her go like that?” Cairos practically screams in my head, and I shrug. It she doesn’t want to stay, I can’t force her, I can’t exactly force her to be my mate. Sometimes, we just have to let things unfold on their own. Fare will continue whether I like it or not, and I can’t force her especially since..
“Alpha Domien, we have a situation here,” Lucas suddenly says through the mindlink. I raise an eyebrow, my smirk widening in amusement,

“Yes, Alplu. He’s here with his beta, and he’s demanding that you bring i

I glance toward the girl as she limps to the door, a dark chuckle escaping my lips.
“We can’t let her go now, can we? Sometimes we can’t let fate unfold on its own” Cairos scoffs as I stand and grab her hand, pulling her flush against
“Where do you think you’re going, liule mate?” I lean closer to her ear, and almost immediately, that intoxicating scent overwhelms my senses, and I unknowingly take a sniff and slightly close my eyes.
“I don’t think you’re nothing to Lucian. Because if that’s true, then why the hell is he at my borders?” I lean back and watch as she opens her mouth in shock, not believing my words.
“L–Lucian is here?” I chuckle darkly, noticing the way she says his name without his title. My arm slips around her waist, sliding lower until it stops just inches from her butt.
“Mhin, should we go greet him together? I think he’s here for you, or maybe he’s here to start another boring war–but hey, we’ll have to see for ourselves, right?” Her eyes widen in shock when she hears that, and she tries to pull away, but I don’t let go.
“He- I don’t want to meet him, please, let me go. I just want to leave,” she begs, her eyes glistening with tears. But without a word, I haul her over my shoulder and walk our of the room.
“Stop! Let me down right now, let me down!” She screams, her Ests pounding against me, but her punches barely register. It’s actually kind of cndearing, watching her struggle. A wicked thought crosses my mind, and I can’t suppress the smirk that forms as I give her a playful smack on the

She seems frozen, then suddenly stops, a gasp escaping her lips at the unexpected spank
“Alpha Damien, did you hear that “Lucas and Martha stop in their tracks when they see us, and Lucas drops his note on the ground. The prople behind them watch with surprised gazes.
I hear her curse under her breath and try to hide her face against my back, which only makes me stiffen a chuckle.
“Damien, what are you doing to the poor girl Let her down!” Martha scolds, her arms crossed, and Lucas nods in agreement. I roll my eyes, walking past them toward the boundaries of the wood
“Damen-“Martha continues, following me like a mother hen, but I interrupt her with a grin.
“He came for her, so I’m just… helping her get to him faster. Can’t have him waiting around, can we? I’m doing a public service, really.” I wink at them, ignoring the disbelieving stares.
“Well, that’s one way to treat your mate,” Lucas muters under his breath, earning an elbow from Martha
over it.”
“You’re both no fun.” I reply with a smirk, my tone teasing. “Let’s be honest–she’s probably not gonna thank me for this later, but she’ll As we head toward our destination, a single thought flashes in my mind–something interesting is about to happen, and at the center of it all is my so called mate that seems to be tied to my biggest rival,
