Damien pov
“Do you know what Lucian made me do when his mate came back? He made me serve her, made me endure humiliation just to please his mate. He ignored the woman who had been with him for five year and ran to the woman who left him for another man. The worst of it all? During all that time, I was pregnant with his child, and when I was accused of poisoning his new Luna, he threw me against the wall, killing his child”
My eyes turn cold as the air around me grows heavy, almost like a brewing storm, my chest tightens and my eyes narrow, darkening as 1 look at my crying mate. Killing intent surges through my body- an emotion that is rare but not unfamiliar. I feel control slipping away with each passing second. Caires class at the edges of my mind, desperate to break free, eager to tear apart the bloodly man before us

“Alpha Damien.” I hear Lucas say as he holds me, but the rest of his words are drowned out. The intense battle to stop Cairos from taking over consumes me. I have to stop it, because if Lalon’t, the place will turn into a massacre.
“Why are you acting irrationally because of a woman?” I scoff, my eyes shifting from gray to silver as I struggle to keep control. It’s like a game of tug–of–war with my unity – and I’m losing.
“That is our mate, Damien–the woman we’ve been searching for. And after all he’s done to her, he deserves to die by our hands” Cairos replies dramatically.
I frown, baffled: “Are you already attached! In just a day? Seriously? What is this, some kind of love–at–first–sight soap opera! Let’s think this through, we can fight but not right here in my pack, if we want to fight then let’s go to Lucian’s pack instead”
Caires growls. “‘s fater She is our fated mate. We have to fight for her and take revenge for what that bastard did to our mate!”
“Yeah, well, fate needs to chill so back down, Cairos and don’t cross me, listen and be obedient,” I say through gritted teeth, but he growls in response and tries harder to take control. I use every ounce of my power to came him, and when it seems I am gaining the upper hand, the girl’s voice cuts through the deafening silence again
“You murdered your child, Lucian. You killed your unborn child just because you were deceived by Liora, and I will never forgive you for it. I will forever hate and curse you for it because you took everything from me, and the Moon Goddess will take everything you want, everything you own. you love and you desperately yearn for, you will lose everything, Lucian. I CURSE YOU WITH THE BLOOD OF MY UNBORN CHILD THAT STAINS YOUR HANDSI
” will end him!” As soon as Cairos growls, my consciousness is thrown back with a force so great, I groan as darkness overwhelms my senses and when Cairos opens his eyes, he has full control over my physical body.
“Fuck you, bastard. Let me out?” I cune but Cairos ignores me and as the rain starts to pour, in a blur, he appears in front of Lucian, removing his grip on the girl and pushing her behind him in a protective stance.
I internally roll my eyes but relax as I watch the scene that is about to unfold because might as well enjoy the show and hopefully Cairos will be able to strike a punch or two on Lucian.
Lucian growls in response, quickly stepping back and narrowly avoiding Cairos‘ outstretched claws as the beast shifts into a massive silver wolf. A menacing growl rumbles from Cairns as he locks eyes with Lucian, his stance sense, ready to attack.
Cairos snarls, circling Lucian as his eyes narrow into a dangerous glint but Lucian seems unfazed, almost bored if not for the slight anger in his

But something else catches my attention: Lucian isn’t shafting into his wolf form d despite the danger. Does he really think he can defeat me in my wolf form? I snarl at the thought. He actually believes he’s that strong
“You think you can challenge me! You are making a mistake. Damien. This has nothing to do with you,” Lucian sneers, his eyes narrowing into a Serce glare as his stance shifts into a defensive poliar
But Caros doesn’t respond with words. Instead, he lunges again, his speed almost imperceptible, his fangs out in a snarl and his claws aimed at Lucian’s neck but instead, it slashes through the space where Lucian stood moments ago, and before Cairos can react, Lucian counters with a powerful kick that sends Cairos skidding back.
The ground trembles beneath them as they clash, each strike louder than the rain crashing down around them. Nobody dares to interfere, knowing this is a fight between Alphas. In the meantime, I am rooting for Cairos as 1 struggle to take back control but Cures isn’t making it easy

Cairos lunges again, his class slashing across Lucian’s hand. As I watch him bleed, I nearly jump for joy, grinning at the sight. But despite how much I want to see it again, time is running out. Half of my boundary is already in ruins
Dammit, Cairos!
“Lucas,” I call through the mindlink. “Evacuate everyone from this place and keep that girl safe. Take her to the packhouse and do not let Lucian go near her” I can hear Lucas‘ response, and as if Lucian can hear my thoughts, he rushes toward the direction of the girl
Lucian growls, intercepting him and lunging at him, but he steps back before another attack.
Still not shifting? He’s already losing, and he still isn’t shifting
They’re about to charge at each other again, and this time, I can see that neither Lucian nor Cairos is planning to hold back. I groan against the force holding me back as I try to break free–much harder this time–but before I can, someone runs between Cairos and Lucian, arms spread apart and eyes closed. My heart involuntarily leaps before I realize what I’m doing.
I use all my strength and take control, shifting back to my human form just as they’re about to collide with the girl. I grab her by the waist, dodge Lucian’s attack, and fall to the ground, rolling until I come to a stop with her on top of me
She groans, opens her eyes, and instantly locks eyes
with mine
