Chapter 10
“Dad” Asher sighed. “I rejected her. I think it has worked, as I didn’t feel like it before. Lucy means nothing to me. To me, she is only a filthy she–wolf who I couldn’t touch. Last time, she left her scent on me, and it disgusted me so much that I tried to get rid of it for a day.”
“That is because you aren’t near. If you move back home, I am sure it will change. You could get close to each other again and get to know each other again. You two could be happy with each other again. Please consider having her back as your mate.”
Asher just shook his head. He did not know what Lucy did to his father, but anything that was, he could not be fooled. His father talked about Lucy a lot. It was clear to Asher Arthur that he wanted them back together, but he did not want to make his father sad. He knew a patient’s state depended greatly an their mental and emotional health. So, he didn’t want to continue this conversation.
When it was time for supper, he wanted to leave, but his father asked him to stay. Again, he did not want him to feel sad, so he gritted his teeth and agreed.
Even if he did not want to hurt his father, he regretted to stay instantly. The pack members looked appalled to see their young Alpha at the table, but they didn’t dare to disrespect him. However, when Lury entered with her father, all the single male eyes stared at her. In the past, that would make Asher furious, but now he needed to realize he felt nothing, unlike Lucy’s father, who had a killer look on his daughter. Lucy felt embarrassed, and Asher had to smile when Lucy realized Asher had witnessed everything. The fact that Harry knew what a whore daughter he had, made and that, even when he was sitting with the pack at the finding table, she couldn’t hold herself back from being a slut, made Asher sure that he made the right decision when he rejected her.
The supper started. The omegas served the food, and just like usual, the other pack members treated them the worst way possible. Arthur did not say a word. Asher thought differently about that. He felt sorry for them, but he wasn’t the official Alpha who got the right to interfere and didn’t want to argue with anyone in the room. They hated him enough, so he thought it was better to focus on his food.
Asher enjoyed the food he had not tasted for a long time. Despise that, when the supper ended, he felt happy to leave the room. He accompanied his father back to his room, and when he made sure he was comfortable, he covered him with a thick blanket and left. He wasn’t surprised to face Lucy as soon as he left the room.
“Asher.”
He rolled his eyes. “Leave me alone.” Asher tried to walk past her, but she held him back
“Ashin, just listen to me at least once.”
Asher took a drep breath and faced her.
“You have one minute.”

I understand you got hurt. I promise to do everything for us, please do not ignore me.
Asher was tired of arguing and needed to admit that his father would have been happy to see them together. He was probably worried about what would happen to the pack after he passed. Even if he felt nothing for her, he lowered his head and looked back into her eyes,
