Chapter 13
The unknown man waiting for her was called Walter. Normal humans would say he is incredibly handsome but also a vampire, so his appearance is attractive to human eyes. As a vampire, he is tall and muscular. His short, brown hair is slicked back, and his blue contact lenses cover his red eyes.
Olivia knew him well, Walter was a member of the community, the place where Olivia used to live. He was a doctor and a scientist and used to be Olivia’s mate. They weren’t together for a long time as their eating habits did not match. Walter could control his thirst only for a short time. He was one of the vampires that couldn’t understand Olivia’s behaviour. A vampire needed blood to function well, and he often tried to convince her that she shouldn’t make herself suffer. Walter killed animals mostly, but sometimes, he found himself a criminal when he unbearably needed human blood. He thought he only helped humans by killing those people. Olivia disagreed with that..
“How did you know where to find me?” Olivia smiled while she took the flowers.
Walter smiled at her.
“It was obvious.” He shrugged his shoulders with his hands in his pocket.
“Why?” Olivia asked.
“Because you like this place. You have mentioned it a lot.”
“Have 17” Olivia’s face showed surprise. “You have a perfect memory if you remember that.”
“What is a hundred years? It passes so quickly. He responded.
Olivia took the flowers. “A hundred years passed already?” She asked after ale sniffed the roses.
Walter’s smile widened.
“Yes.” He said. However, Olivia made a face of excuse. She still didn’t know how Walter knew she would come here. She would have moved to another place; she shouldn’t have come here. However, knowing Walter, she knew she would ask him in vain. So, she didn’t bother anymore,
Olivia assumed why Walter came to see her, and even if she liked him a lot, she didn’t want to give him hope.
“Walter, you are very kind, but I am tired. I only want to go home, have a bath, and get some sleep.”
“Just let me accompany you to your car.” He said, as he knew her.
“Okay.” Olivia nodded and sniffed the flowers. Walter had a good memory, Indeed. He remembered what her favourite flower was. They walked out of the huspital togethurr.
Nune of them noticed Aster, who watched the scene from the reception. Thanks to his sophisticated heating, he heard everything. He did not know why, but he did not like the scene at all. It wasn’t just that another vampire appeared close to hin seeing them leave happily gave him an unfamiliar unease. He watched the two leave, and when he couldn’t see them anymore, he turned around and left the reception.
Olivia walked out with Walter, and she stopped at her car.
“Walter, I am happy to meet you again but must go home. I had a long day and told you I am tired
Walter nodded with a smile, which wasn’t happy
“I know. You like to be single.” He sighed.
Olivia nodded with a sad smile. Somehow, she was happy to see Walter but didn’t want her to explain has feelings again.
“You know me well, I guess ”
I know you, and I don’t understand you.” He stated.
Buy Olivia just sailed quietly till Walter continued.
“Haye you asked them to help you finish it yet?”
Oliva Imwered her head and lucked back at him. They had a serious conversation then. Olivia often talked about how she couldn had her place in this world and sometimes preferred to be a mortal creature
ight not be brave enough,” she responded

Walter chuckled this time
“Just like all of us. We are all afraid of the darkness. But I am happy to hear that.”
“I don’t think there is anything after we die,” Olivia stated,
Walter smiled.
“Well, fortunately, we don’t have to know. We are the lucky ones.”
“Yeah. We are the lucky ones.” Olivia said while pinching Walter’s side.
“I’ll let you go now,” He said. That made Olivia happy. She thought it would take more effort to convince Walter she had not changed her mind over the
