After Olivia got all the information, she started the surgery. It took her an hour to save the man’s life, and when she was done and when the patient’s state was stable, she left the room. Olivia took her first breath outside since the ambulance car brought the patient in. She took no breath inside the room. avoiding smelling blood
She slowly approached the relatives and explained to them that even if the man’s condition was stable, it was still a waiting game.
When the relatives started to cry, she signalled to a nurse nearby to take care of them. Even though she was empathic, she could not feel anything when she saw relatives like that. Olivia had gotten used to it during her long years as a doctor. She did not go back to the room, even though she had learned how to bear her thirst. She did not want to be close to the bloody equipment. Olivia was strong and practised enough to bear her thirst, However, she was still afraid that one day, she would lose her mind.
While she returned to the reception, she felt Asher’s piercing gaze on her. She looked at him only for a moment. Asher instantly felt angered as Olivia lifted her chin to show him how much he underestimated her. And to show him he was wrong when he thought a vampire could not control itself.
Asher got five minutes until he was finishing his shift. Even though he wanted to make sure Olivia would not touch the hospital’s bloodstock, he had another problem when he stepped out of the hospital. He promised his dad he would go to see him. His dad was very important to him, and he liked to spend time with him, but he felt nauseous when he thought he would also meet Lucy.
Asher did not shower or change. He sat in his car in the hospital parking lot and drove to the Blue Moon Pack’s land. On the way, he needed to focus on driving, as his thoughts were far away.
After he arrived and entered the pack house, he got the same gaze as usual, but he also got used to that, He just ignored the pack members. When he entered his father’s room, he found Lucy there. She stood up to greet him. She tried to kiss his face, but he turned his head and pushed her away. His father looked sad while watching the scene, but he said nothing. He greeted his son.
“Why are you here?” Asher had a piercing look at Lucy, “I want to speak to my father privately-
“Asher, how can you treat your mate like that?” Arthur could not hold himself back from defending Lucy
“She isn’t my mate, father. I rejected her a long time ago.” He answered indifferently.
“Don’t worry, Arthur, I will be fine.” Lucy had a pitiful expression, and she was about to leave when Arthur stopped her
“I’ll see you at dinner, darling”
Lucy stiled at him and nodded before she left the room, Asher felt offended, of course.
“Dad, I don’t care about her and don’t want to see her. Alan, you shouldn’t treat her well. You should have kicked her out of the pack long ago.”
“Asher I understand you. Believe me, I do. But she changed a lot. She made a mistake, and she regretted that. She loves you so much. You should consider giving her another chance. You won’t get any younger after all, and I haven’t got so much to live.”

Arthur lowered his head and took a deep breath. He remained quiet for a while, unsure what to say to his son, but finally, he looked at Asher. “I know you have got hurt deeply, but Lucy spends much time with me. She is helping me. Believe me, son. She maybe wasn’t ready then, but about you a lot. Likink she truly loves you. The Moon Goddess chose you for each other. And the Moon Goddess never makes mistakes.”
