As soon as Raine said those words, Bruno buried his face in her chest and began to weep uncontrollably.
Raine stayed up drinking with him late into the night.
When the alcohol had taken over, the two of them held each other in their arms as they slept. The whole night passed in
silence.
It wasn’t until the next day, when Bruno woke up with a pounding headache, that he remembered about me.
“Raine, I need to find Aelia. She loves me enough to step aside for us. You’ll do the same, right? When the time comes, you can stay at the apartment, and she’ll stay here. Everything will be just like it was before, alright?”
Bruno spoke softly, a trace of longing in his eyes.
Just as Bruno was about to book a plane ticket, his phone rang. It was his assistant.
