Meanwhile, I was in the seating area watching Liam’s race. The crowd was excited; everyone was shouting for their favorite
racer.
It was the final day, and the champion would soon be decided. Naturally, the atmosphere was even more intense. Thus, I
didn’t notice a familiar figure slowly making her way toward me in the corner.
A pregnant Raine suddenly knelt at my feet, taking me by surprise. I stood up, shocked.
“What are you doing here?”
I didn’t tell anyone else where I would be, so how did Raine find me?
Before I could think it through, Raine started crying and tried to throw her arms around me.
I quickly got up and dodged. She had fooled me once–I wasn’t going to fall for it again. Not to mention, she was pregnant
now. If something happened, nothing could clear my name.
When Raine saw how I avoided her like the plague, her face froze for a moment, but she quickly collected herself and began sobbing at my feet.
“Please, let me have Bruno! I’m already carrying his child. He still won’t give me a proper acknowledgment because of you,
even until now! I’m his first love… Why did you have to come between us? Why?!” she wailed hysterically.
With such ambiguous words, people in the stands started looking at me differently. Those close enough to hear began
whispering.
“So, it’s the wife confronting the mistress.”
“If you’re the wife, why not stand up for yourself?”
“Can’t you see she’s pregnant?”
Those whispers made me frown. Some bolder ones even spat in my direction, eyes full of contempt.
“How could someone so young like you end up as a homewrecker?”
“How shameless!”
I shot the man a cold look, and he immediately shut up. He didn’t want any trouble.
Raine kept crying at my feet. “Please, leave Bruno to me! I’ll do whatever you want, I’ll pay you! Just leave him!”

When I saw her like this, I didn’t bother with her one–man show anymore and said bluntly, “You and Bruno already got my family’s company. What more do you want?”
The two of them plotted against me, deceived me, and still called me a homewrecker… What were they even thinking?
Hearing this, the onlookers‘ gazes only grew more inquisitive.
There was more to the story!
But the race was heating up, so people stopped looking over here.
Raine let out a bitter laugh. “What more do I want? Sometimes I just want to kill you, you know? You were born as an heiress, and I had nothing. Now, you want to take the only thing I have left. Do you know how much I hate you?”
I stared at her, not sure what she wanted to accomplish by spilling her heart like this. As for hating me, why? I didn’t do anything to her from the very beginning. Shouldn’t she be mad at the man who let her down?
I feel like I need to remind her. “Isn’t the reason Bruno still hasn’t married you because of his reputation?”
