Next to her, Bruno frowned. “What are you talking about? She’s my fiancee.”
The nurse shuddered and faked a cough, then looked back and forth between us. I figured her mind couldn’t keep up.
I didn’t want anyone to keep misunderstanding this, so I rolled my eyes and said, “Ex–fiancee. No longer current. And I didn’t push that woman.”
Bruno’s brows knit even tighter. “Aelia Lawson, since when did you learn to lie?”
