I just smiled at his little schemes. I could never refuse him.
Today was our first day, even.
Before I could think more about it, my string of thoughts was suddenly cut short.
Without any warning, a rugged hand suddenly shot out and held over my mouth. An overwhelming force dragged me straight toward a dark, deep alley. The ambush was so sudden and effective, I didn’t even have time to react.
In an instant, my mind went blank; instinctively, I began to struggle.
Faced with such overwhelming strength, however, my resistance was futile. I could only let myself be dragged deeper and deeper into the alley.
Finally, when I was pulled into the darkest corner, I managed to catch a glimpse of their faces under the faint moonlight.
There were five men in total, all wearing crooked grins.
“Hehe, this chick is even hotter than the photo!” one of them said as he licked his lips.
“We really hit the jackpot! We get paid and get to have some fun. Where else can you find a deal like this?” another man added. His remark was followed by a burst of obscene laughter.
After hearing their sickening words and seeing them closing in, even an idiot could tell what was about to happen.
I held my breath and quietly slipped my hand into my pocket, where I kept the taser I usually carried for self–defense.
Back when I used to bring Bruno and Raine their midnight snacks, I had gotten used to walking alone at night. I always made sure I had this taser to keep myself safe before leaving the house.
I never thought I actually got to use it today!
Even though I was terrified and filled with nervousness, my curiosity still got the better of me. I couldn’t help but ask, “Who sent you?”
We were living in a society run by the rule of law. Who would do something this unruly without a reason?
“Who cares? All you need to do is let us take good care of you!”
What followed was a wave of indecent laughter.
