Liam’s heart nearly stopped. He ran toward the sound and didn’t even glance at the men on the ground when he saw me. He ran straight to me and pulled me into his arms.
“You scared me to death! I thought something had happened to you!”
There was a long silence after that.
When Liam finally calmed down, he slowly let go of me and then looked down at the men lying on the ground.
I briefly explained what had happened Liam’s anger got the better of him. Without any hesitation, he started pummeling the five thugs. By the time the police arrived, the men were almost unrecognizable.
After we finished at the police station and got home, it was already dawn
The police were incredibly efficient, however.
Raine never expected her plan to fail. After all, there were so many men!
When the cops showed up at her house, she was completely dumbfounded. She even tried to argue with them.
Upon finding out what she was accused of, she finally snapped.
“It’s not my fault! It’s all Aelia’s fault! She stole everything that should have been mine. You should be arresting her, not me! Let me go!”
Then they handcuffed Raine and put her at the back of the squad car. If nothing else happened, she would spend the rest of her life in prison.
However, she didn’t regret a thing. I heard she was still cursing me out loud in the hospital.
James pulled some strings and had her sent to the nearest psychiatric hospital.
“If she’s not mentally unwell, then what is she? She can’t even admit she did anything wrong… She has lost it,” Liam muttered as he lay on my lap, playing games. “If it weren’t for the law, she wouldn’t even have the chance to end up in a psychiatric hospital. She should just stay there forever!”
I stroked his fluffy hair and chuckled. “I’m not angry. If anything, you’re the one who’s upset.”
Liam sat up and stared at me seriously for a long time. “Let’s get married.”
“Huh?” I blinked.
“I said, let’s get married! And you’re not allowed to say no!”
