Chapter 16
“Well, Cecilia must be trying to scare me on purpose,” Gavin suddenly realized.
The colleagues in the Project Division looked at each other in confusion. Everyone knew about Cecilia’s resignation, but Gavin didn’t.
“She’s just trying to get back at me for not comforting her lately. She’s still preparing for our wedding. I’ll find evidence of her lies and prove that she doesn’t want to break up with me,” Gavin muttered, trying to suppress his anger.
He grabbed the potted plant and drove home in the pouring rain.

When he got home, Gavin found the letter from the wedding dress shop buried among the pile of envelopes. He suddenly smiled. “I knew it, Cecilia is still preparing for our wedding.”
Gavin didn’t open the letter. Instead, he drove to the wedding dress shop to pick up her dress.
He had accompanied Cecilia to this shop once, but he couldn’t remember the way and had to rely on the GPS the entire time.
The rain was pouring heavily. Gavin held an umbrella, but still got drenched.
The shop was decorated to resemble a wedding scene to give customers a better experience when trying on wedding dresses.
Gavin remembered that when they first came here, Cecilia had picked out a few dresses to try on for him. He sat in the lounge, working on documents, and only looked up at her once.
The staff had marveled at her beauty, and he just thought she looked fine.
He always knew Cecilia was beautiful. He had just gotten used to it, so he didn’t feel overwhelmed by her looks. Besides, such a beautiful Cecilia already belonged to him.
“Gavin, I think the finished wedding dress doesn’t look as good. I want to customize one,” Cecilia said, sitting beside him, flipping through the design sketches.
“Custom dresses take time, but since we haven’t set a date yet, let’s customize one. I used to love…
At that moment, Gavin received a call from the company, so he didn’t pay much attention to what Cecilia had said. Now, with his eyes closed, he couldn’t remember what Cecilia had been about to say.
Marriage was a matter for both people, but he hadn’t really thought about it. He neither took the initiative nor refused, more like assuming Cecilia would wait for him.
As long as Cecilia was still waiting with the dress, it meant her feelings hadn’t changed and she still wanted to marry him.
“Mr. Foster? What brings you here?” The shop manager, Tina Harper, came out to greet him.
Gavin snapped out of his thoughts and held up the letter. “This is the one you sent, right? Where is Cecilia’s wedding dress?”

Chapter 16
Tina looked puzzled. “Did Ms. Jordan want to see it? Please, this way.”
Hearing this, Gavin felt a huge sense of relief. As long as the dress was still there, it meant Cecilia hadn’t given up on marrying him. Just as he had suspected, everything she said yesterday was just in anger and lies.
However, Gavin was a bit surprised when he saw that her dress wasn’t hanging up but was packed in a box.
When he opened the box, he was stunned to see the wedding dress had been shredded. His eyes widened in shock. “What does this mean? Why is Cecilia’s wedding dress cut like this? Did you damage it?”
Tina looked even more confused and explained, “Mr. Foster, about a month ago, Ms. Jordan called to cancel the wedding dress. She paid for it but didn’t request the dress to be sent back. She asked us to dispose of it.
“We sent out the notice for the final date, and when we didn’t receive a call from Ms. Jordan to cancel, the dress was shredded.”
Gavin couldn’t believe it. He opened the letter and saw the date when the dress was shredded. The deadline had passed.
Tina cautiously asked, “Mr. Foster, you didn’t know about this?”
Gavin froze. ‘I didn’t know Cecilia had made such a decision. Now that the dress is shredded, there’s no wedding. Does she really want to break up? Does she no longer want to wait for me to agree to marry her?‘
Gavin couldn’t control his rapid breathing and anger. He grabbed the box with the shredded dress and stormed out.
Sitting in the car, his fingers stiffly dialed Cecilia’s number. The call was blocked.
“Cecilia, what the hell are you doing?” Gavin couldn’t accept the situation and yelled in frustration to himself.
Around 3 PM, the sky was covered with dark clouds. Gavin felt suffocated. Driving through the rain, he called Charles. “Cecilia really wants to break up with me!”
Hearing his distressed voice, Charles immediately stopped his meeting. “Gavin, is Cecilia just being jealous and throwing a tantrum? You should comfort her, she wouldn’t leave you.”
“We’ve been together for so many years, how could she break up with me?” Gavin glanced at the box with the shredded dress on the back seat. His voice was tight with anger, on the verge of losing his rationality.
“I never had anything going on with Stella. Why can’t she trust me? She’s the one resigning and deciding to break up on her own. I’m going to ask her right now. How can she do this?” Gavin said.
“You’re going to see Cecilia now? I’ll come too and help talk to her.” Charles said as he grabbed his suit jacket and headed out.
Gavin’s breathing grew more frantic, nearly gritting his teeth as he spoke, “Cecilia has been with me since childhood, I understand her. She won’t change and can’t change. What belongs to me will never be out of my control…
“Gavin, calm down, are you driving?” At that moment, the sound of a car’s emergency brakes came through the phone. Charles‘ face changed instantly. “Gavin!”
At the intersection, Gavin’s black Maybach collided with a turning vehicle, leaving a mess at the scene.

Chapter 16
The day after Cecilia became Jacqueline’s disciple, she went with Chloe to register their studio.
“Celestia Studio is such a beautiful name. I’ll design a logo when we get back. You’ve worked hard overseeing the studio’s renovations these days.
Once the studio in the villa is ready, I’ll continue learning from Professor Collins and start thinking about new works,” Cecilia said, holding an umbrella in the pouring rain.
“Sounds good. I’m also looking forward to your new works. Our two bosses are going to make big money!” Chloe replied with a smile, always supporting Cecilia no matter what she said.
Just as they returned to the villa, Cecilia suddenly received a call from Charles. “Cecilia, hurry to the hospital! There’s been a car accident!”
Hearing this, Cecilia asked, nervously, “You had a car accident? Which hospital are you at?” She quickly got back into the driver’s seat, ready to head to the hospital.
“It’s not me, it’s Gavin. He got into a car accident,” Charles said urgently. “He was on his way to see you, but ended up in an accident. He’s in the hospital now and is emotionally shaken. Hurry up and get here.”
Suddenly, Cecilia froze.
