After Scott went to prison, almost every year he filed a request through the prison system, asking to see me and our daughter.
I never approved a single one.
By the time my daughter was old enough to understand, she knew exactly what her father had done.
One day, she came to me on her own and said, “Mom, I don’t have a dad. I only have you, and Grandpa and Grandma.”
As for Chloe, I heard that about six months into her sentence, she got into a violent altercation with a fellow inmate.
She was shoved, fell hard, and lost the child she’d been using as a bargaining chip.
Five years later, when she was finally released, she returned to her hometown under the infamy of being the “most vicious mistress” and “a scheming liar who ruined lives“.

My daughter and I did not see him one last time, nor did we claim his body.
