Chapter 30
Silvermoon’s Shadow Falls
Benjamin saw images of Lanie’s lavish blood bond ceremony on theet. Rage consumed him as he stared at Zoe Jackson’s image.
His Guardian Wolf howled in silent fury. Zoe orchestrated this,
We didn’t he?**He must have!*
Ignoring his mother’s pleas, he stormed out of the healing den.
It was their first day as a bonded pair. Lanie and Zoe were enjoying

rare moment of intimacy.
A sharp chime at the comm–link shattered the peace. Zoe frowned, wondering who would interrupt at this hour. He threw on a robe and answered. Before he could speak, Benjamin’s fist flew towards him. Zoe easily evaded the blow, seizing Benjamin’s wrist.
“What in the moons are you doing?” Zoe’s war wolf’s strength was evident, his crimson eyes blazing.
Benjamin’s eyes were bloodshot, his fur disheveled
far cry from his usual impeccable appearance.
His voice was icy.“Zoe, stealing Lanie wasn’t enough. You also orchestrated Adam’s accident! He’s in the healing den; his leg may be lost! You will answer for this!”
A fight ensued. Zoe effortlessly countered each of Benjamin’s attacks, calmly explaining.
“Benjamin, I wouldn’t stoop so low. I merely ensured your return, giving you something to occupy your time. I did not and me.”

filling the air.
Drawn by the commotion, Lanie appeared. Her wolf’s perceptive abilities immediately picked up on the raw emotion “Stop it!” she yelled, adding, “I believe Zoe. We will rely on facts.”
Benjamin calmed at her voice. The Jackson Pack released their investigative findings; the speeder that struck Adam had experienced a catastrophic failure–a genuine accident. Zoe was not involved. As he’d stated, his pack members had merely subdued Benjamin and Adam and returned them to the Blood Moon Pack territory.
The campaign against the Hale and Thorne families was underway.
Mrs. Benjamin repeatedly contacted Benjamin, urging his return. Adam was also returned to Blood Moon territory for treatment. Zoe had already established a new business in Blood Moon territory to compete with Benjamin Corp. Lanie’s family, with its considerable influence and the Jackson alliance, began to exert pressure on the Hale and Thorne families.
Upon awakening, Adam discovered his leg immobilized.
He was beside himself with rage and frustration. Benjamin sat beside him, saying coldly, “Your leg is mended, saved, but extensive rehabilitation is required. No more speeders.”
Adam couldn’t accept this. He could choose to stop riding, but not be forced. When he finally recovered, he tried to drive. Cold sweat broke out; the terror of near–death overwhelmed him again.
He couldn’t even operate a regular vehicle, let alone a speeder. He stumbled out of the vehicle, drenched in sweat, pale and shaken.
Benjamin helped him, remaining silent.
Adam looked at Benjamin. “Why are you here? Have you surrendered your claim on Lanie?”
Benjamin gazed into the distance, sighing deeply.“What choice did I have?”
During Adam’s recovery, he’d made numerous attempts to reach Lanie.
He wrote letters derailing their shared memories, hoping to rekindle those feelings. He received no response.
She had told Zoe everything–her childhood with Benjamin and Adam.
There was nothing to hide, nothing to incite jealousy.
Benjamin had witnessed Lanie’s love for Zoe–a love vastly different from what he’d felt.
Benjamin had no choice but to yield. No matter how unwilling he was.
Hearing Benjamin, Adam felt all hope drain away. He was now incapacitated, inferior to Benjamin, let alone Zoe Jackson. They returned home in silence, their interactions dwindling. The three closest brothers were silently drifting apart…
Years passed swiftly.

One summer day, Lanie lay in bed, drifting off to sleep.
It was an unusual sleep. A dizzying sensation overwhelmed her, a powerful force pulling her into a vortex.
She awoke in a strange place, staring at a boundless expanse of stars. A voice echoed in her ears, “Welcome, Subject 10017, Shirly, to the Main God Space.”
Memories, spanning countless lifetimes, flooded back.
She remembered.
She was a traveler, traversing different timelines, repairing fractured worlds, and collecting fragments of the Main God.
A luminous gateway materialized before her–the portal to her next mission. Without hesitation, she touched the “Begin” button. The screen she was swept into the next world…
glowed, and
“Be a good person. Now go home. Your family is waiting for you outside.”
Under the polite instructions of the prison guard, Ashlee Spencer slowly walked out of the prison.
