“Be my princess Vicky.”
The bodyguards, once gripping me tightly, now staggered back, as if an invisible force had shattered their hold.
Charles’s eyes blazed with a new kind of fury, the veins in his neck pulsing. “Vicky” he snapped, his voice sharp like broken glass, “what is it you want? Do you want to ruin me completely? Is this your way of making sure I lose everything–my reputation, my business, and my future–all because of some petty jealousy?”
Tracy sneered.
“Charles, don’t you see? Vicky clearly wants to tear everything down! If Christopher,

that charmer, keeps rushing to her aid, something’s definitely going on between them. They’ve probably been involved for ages behind your back.”
Christopher, usually playful and nonchalant, instantly turned cold.
“You better be careful, Tracy. You’re not some society queen; you’re just a bitter, gossiping shadow trying to stir trouble where there’s none.”
Tracy’s eyes flickered.
“Charles, forget it. After all, today is our engagement party! Since Vicky insists on staying, let her stay!”
“But her clothes are worn. Why don’t I have someone take her to change?”

I wanted to see what she was up to, so I followed her to the dressing room.
As soon as we entered, she turned around and slapped me hard.
“How dare you try to take what belongs to me? This slap is a lesson in humility! You should know your place, little girl!”
“Get in here, all of you! Teach this arrogant girl what it means to cross the line. I’ve handed her over, and I’ll take full responsibility for whatever happens next. Let’s see if she has the nerve to show her face in front of Charles again.”
As her words echoed, a group of men with greedy eyes stepped forward
At that moment,someone rushed in, panting. “Miss. Winston…”

Tracy’s face lit up with surprise. “What did you say, Miss. Winston is here?”
A commotion could be heard outside.
“What? You say Miss. Winston is here? Where? I don’t see her!”
Bucky’s voice rang out. “Are you questioning me?”
“No, no, we just haven’t seen any Miss. Winston!”
The door swung open, and Bucky walked in, his eyes lighting up as he hurried toward me.
“Miss, what are you doing here alone?”
A crowd followed closely behind, all frozen in place when they saw the scene.

After a long pause, Tracy Davis looked incredulously. “Mr. Bucky, have you made a mistake? Vicky is just a poor girl. How could she possibly be Miss. Winston?”
