Vivian’s affair wasn’t over yet, after all, Alpha’s oral trial wasn’t solemn enough. The council spoke of her final punishment.
Wolf Council Hall, full moon in the sky.
The twelve elders sat around the stone round tables, their shadows long cast by the candles.
I stood in the center, my gray eyes standing out in the dim light. Behind me, two soldiers are holding the embarrassed Vivian.
“According to the law of the Wolf clan, Chief Elder Martha Zhang tapped the scepter, “Vivian Tate will be tried today for falsifying the line of succession.”

Members of parliament gasped.
Vivian suddenly screamed, “She deserves it! Why should a disable Luna hog Alpha?”
“Shut up!” Alpha Keal turned sharply, and my pupils began to slightly red — a sign of angry.
I took the opportunity to add: “Elders, our Alpha, for a fraud, has not only harmed his destined mate, but has also violated the most sacred of werewolf laws, the Blood Covenant.”

Parliament was in an uproar again. Divorce means a complete severing of relationships, which is extremely rare in Wolf history.
Alpha Keal struggled to look up. “No… Selene, you can’t…”
I had turned toward the door. “The moment you slept with her a year ago, it was over.”

I nodded and was about to get into the car when there was a sound of rapid footsteps behind me.
‘Wait! Alpha Keal ran after him breathlessly, his forehead still bearing the blood from the fight, “At least… At least let me make it up to you.”
I didn’t look back. “What compensation? Your hypocrisy? Or your betrayal?”
“I’ll give up everything and go with you!”
That finally turned me around. I looked at the once mighty Alpha, who now stood before
me like a lost dog.

The carriage started slowly, and Alpha Keal stood there, watching the figure gradually disappear into the snow.
A Wolf howled in the distance, as if mocking him for all he had lost.
