Chapter 10
Zoe glared at Isis, her voice sharp. “What’s that supposed to mean! You’d rather defend a housekeeper than stand by your own family!”
Isis met her gaze, unwavering. “And you all just assumed 1 hum Alice without even asking? Every one of you was there–did anyone see me do anything? What part of what Sophie said was a lie?”
William couldn’t hold back anymore. His voice thundered through the room. “Enough” All his anger exploded at Isis “You’ve crossed the line!”
Isis let out a cold laugh. “Crossed the line how? Because I didn’t let Alice shove me to the ground?”
Willum snapped, “She didn’t do it on purpose! She’s just a kid! You think she meant any harm!”
“In two months, she’ll be eighteen. Still calling her a kid! Isis scoffed.
“That’s enough, bis!” William barked. “You’re being completely unreasonable
Not backing down an inch. Isis kept her tone ity. “None of you have said a single word about Alice pushing me, but somehow, I’m the bad guy! If this is what you call being reasonable, then no thanks”
Without another word, Isis turned on her heel and walked away. Every second spent arguing with them felt like a waste of breath.
The three left behind in the living room fumed with anger. Isis had always been easygoing, never one to openly call them out like this. Had she lost her mind today”
Zoe’s eyes burned with fury as she watched Isis leave. “That girl has no place in this family anymore! Just wait–11l make sure she pays for this!”
Back in the bedroom, Sophie was livid. “A bunch of greedy, ungrateful leeches!” she huffed.
Sophic continued, “Leaving them is the best thing you could do! The Moore family has more money than they could ever dream of–just a fraction of it would be enough to set you up for life. Why waste your time suffering in this house?”
his smirked coldy. Suffering Staying here any longer and I’ll be lucky to make it out alive
All I wanted now was to talk to Adrian about the divorce. But two days had passed, and he still hadn’t come home. She was getting impatient.
And then, just as Isis was reaching her limit, Zoe finally made her move.
Since the explosive fight that day, Isis had completely detached herself from the Anderson family. She didn’t eat with them, barely acknowledged them, and most of her meals were with Sophie outside the house.
Strangely enough, no one had confronted her about it. Even Alice had been keeping quiet. If anything, their attitude toward her had taken a bizarre rum–they were suddenly being nice.
And if there was one thing Isis knew for sure, it was that kindness from them never came without a catch. It didn’t take long for that catch to show
That evening. Zoe suddenly became overly affectionate, practically dragging Isis to sit beside her, her smile so forced it looked painful.
Isis narrowed her eyes. How do I never notice how take her kindness is before?
Holding her hand warmly, Zoe cooed, “Isis, you and Adrian haven’t even spent your honeymoon! He wants to make it up to you with something special
Honeymoon! luis’s frown deepened. “What are they scheming now?
It was true–Isis and Adrian had never spent their honeymoon together. In the past life, he also never touched her. Looking back now, the fact that she hadn’t questioned it was downright ridiculous.
At that moment, Zoe pulled our a keycard and placed it in Isis’s hand. “Adrian booked the best suite at the Regal Hotel. You don’t need to come home tonight–just enjoy your time with him.”
Well, well. Ius turned the keycard over in her fingers. She ludust expected them to play this card:
There was no way Adrian had set up a romantic surprise. And even if he had, Isis wouldn’t want it. Just the thought of the two of them together
made her stomach turn
Sull, his gave Zoe a noncommittal smile and nodded. If they were setting her up, she wanted to see exactly what kind of trap they were laying this

As soon as bus left, William emerged from the study, his face tense. “Do you think she’ll actually go!”
Zoe smirked, confidence oozing from her “Of course, she will! She’s absessed with Adrian–she practically threw herself at him just to marryi
y into
this family. Do you really think she’d pass up a night with him?”
William hesitated, then sighed. It was true–tsis had done everything for Adrian, even treating them with undeserved generosity.
Zoe’s eyes gleamed with something dark. She said, “As long as the steps into that room, I can guarantee she won’t be walking out.”
William’s expression twisted with something unreadable–disgust, maybe. But in the end, he said nothing. For the sake of the Anderson family’s future, he was willing to tum a blind eye.
Zoe had sold Isis to be at the hotel by seven that evening. But around four in the afternoon, she rushed out of the house. What she didn’t notice was the black sedan that had been silently railing her the entire way.
Inside the car, Isis watched her every m
move, her eyes cold. Let’s see exactly
ily how she plans to set up this so–called surprise!
Meanwhile, at the hospital, a grueling case conference had finally wrapped up. In appreciation of the doctors‘ hard work, the hospital had given them the rest of the day off
Among those leaving were Layla and Adrian. After two days of non–stop work, Adrian was dying to get home, take a long shower, and crash in bed. But Layla stopped him.
“Adrian, we haven’t had any real alone time in forever. Layla murmured, her voice carrying a hint of shyness. “Why don’t you skip going home tonight!”
Adnan paused. “Then where would I go?”
Layla’s checks flushed. “We could just get a hotel or something..
For a moment, Adrian was caught off guard. Then he met Layla’s expectant, slightly embarrassed gaze, and something inside him stirred.
Well, his family knew he’d been swamped these past few days. One more night away wouldn’t hurt. “Alright” Adrian agreed
Just like that, the two headed for the Regal Hotel, which was close to the hospital.
Sall tailing Zoe, Isis ended up at the same hotel. And when she watched Zoe walk in with a tall, burly man at her side, her eyes widened.
Is she cheating” Isis thought. But she dismissed it immediately.
Is knew Zoe too well–money and status were all she cared about. Last! That had never been her weakness. But someone else’s was
Keeping her distance, Isis followed them up to the thirty–second floor. She watched as Zoe led the man straight into a specific room. Her gaze Licked to the number on the keycard in her hand.
It was the same room. Instantly, everything clicked into place. Zoe had arranged for Isis and this man to end up in the same hotel room, waiting for the perfect moment to “catch” them together.
Once that happened, how would Isis ever prove her innocence? Her reputation, her dignity–gone in an instant.
Is let out a cold, silent laugh. ‘Oh, so it really is a honeymoon night–just with a different man.
That swap changed everything. If the Andersons got ahold of this, they’d accuse her of cheating, and Isis would be left with nothing.
No–worse than nothing. They wouldn’t just throw Isis out with empty pockets. They’d take everything that belonged to the Moore family too. How greedy could they pr
Jums eyes turned ice–cold The Andersons never failed to push her understanding of human depravity.
Once Zoe left, lus slipped into the room. She pushed open the door and smiled at the burly man inside.
The man froze the moment he une her, darting a panicked glance at his watch. This wasn’t right–she wasn’t supposed to be here yet! “You.. How did you–r
Isis kept smiling, but there was nothing warm about it. “Dad I come to early? Wer
Were you not finished sening up whatever trap you had planned for
The man looked even more confused. What the bell is going on?
Ius let the stride fade, her voice turning sharp. “How much did that old woman pay you? I’ll triple in. Tell me everything she told you to do.”

The man hesitated, his eyes trailing over her. There was intrigue in his stare–appreciation even. The woman standing before him was stunning.
But has thoughts didn’t get far. A flash of silver caught his eye as Isis pulled out a set of long needles, their sharp tips gleaming ominously under the light
Td take the money if I were you” Isis said coolly, twirling a needle between her fingers. “Because if you don’t, you’ll be paying a much bigger price.”
Isis tilted her head, her gaze dropping pointedly to a very specific part of his body. “I won’t kill you,” she murmured. “But I will make sure you’ll never be a man again.
A shudder ran down his spine. The man thought, Losing that! I’d rather be dead. And for what I’m already getting paid–why risk it
Without further hesitation, the man spilled everything
Just as Isis suspected. Zoe had set her up. The plan was sumple: get her into this hotel room, ensure she woke up in bed with another man, and then stage a dramatic caught in the act scene. The evidence would be undeniable. A dear case of adultery.
Isis’s eyes turned to ice. Cold fury called around her, sinking deep into her bones. She ordered the man to leave and stepped out of the room, ber mand steady and razor–sharp.
The moment she reached the hotel lobby, Isis stopped dead in her tracks. Hand in hand, looking every bit like a loving couple. Adrian and Laylı walked through the entrance.
A chill settled over her. Isis snapped. Well, well! My dear husband, is off to a romantic night with his mistress. My mother–in–law, scheming to destroy me. What a perfect day!
Isis watched as the two checked in and made their way upstairs, laughing softly, wrapped up in each other. If that’s how they want to play it, then fine. Let’s make this fun, she thought
Iss strode to the from desk and leaned in slightly. “Hi,” she said, her voice smooth and pleasant. “That couple who just checked in–they’re my friends. It’s their anniversary tonight, and we wanted to surprise them with an upgrade. Td like to book the Presidential Suite for them.”
Not long after, just as Adrian and Layla were about to settle into their room, their phone rang
“Good evening, ur the receptionist said warmly. “Today is our hotel’s anniversary, and as part of our celebration, we’ve randomly selected a lucky guest for a free upgrade. Congratulations! You’ve been chosen for a complimentary stay in our Presidential Suite
“Presidential Suite? For free?” Adrian asked, caught off guard
“Yes, sir. It’s the finest room we offer. You may come to the front desk to collect your new keycard.”
The moment he hung up, Layla practically squealed. Their original booking was just a standard room–this was an opportunity they couldn’t pass
- up.
Excited, they quickly grabbed their things and headed to the front desk. As soon as they left, Isis stepped out from the shadows, watching them disappear with a smirk.
This turned to the receptionist and smiled. Thanks. I’m sure they’ll have an unforgettable night
The hotel, of course, had no objections. After all, they had been paid for two rooms. No loss on their end.
