Declan was seething inside. She was with another man the moment I stepped away. If I had come any later, who knows? Maybe I would have walked in on them in bed, he wondered.
He sat down beside Phoebe and smirked at Mason.

Unfazed, Mason chuckled. “Mr. Richardson, Phoebe is my friend. If she ever needs anything, I will always be there to help.”
Declan stared at Mason coldly. “Mason, I did not expect you to be so enthusiastic. You want to meddle in our family affairs? I suggest you focus on improving your acting skills instead of sticking your nose where it does not belong.
“My acting skills are none of your concern, Mr. Richardson,” Mason replied.
The two locked eyes, neither willing to back down.
Sensing the tension in the air, Phoebe frowned at Declan. “Mr. Richardson, if you are here to start trouble, you can leave right now.”
Declan’s anger flared instantly. He gritted his teeth. “Phoebe, this bastard is trying to drive a wedge between us. Who is really the one causing trouble here?”
Phoebe’s gaze was icy. “First, Mason is my friend. Show him some respect. Second, no one needs to sow discord between us. You and I both know exactly where we stand.”
Declan was so furious that he let out a cold laugh. Without another word, he grabbed Phoebe’s hand and pulled her toward the exit.
As they passed Mason, Mason suddenly reached out and grabbed Phoebe’s other hand. “Mr. Richardson, did you not see that Phoebe almost lost her balance?”
Upon seeing how roughly Declan was treating her, anger surged in Mason’s heart.
‘Is this the man she gave up everything for?‘ he thought. ‘If she were with me, I would never let her suffer even the slightest grievance. Her feelings would always come first.‘
Declan turned back, his pupils contracting when he saw Mason holding Phoebe’s hand. His gaze became as cold as ice, freezing the air around them. “Let go. Unless you no longer want that hand of yours.”
Mason was unfazed by his icy demeanor. He enunciated each word clearly. “You are the one who should let go.”
The two men stood there, locked in a silent standoff, quickly drawing the attention of people around them.
Phoebe felt a headache coming on. She had only wanted a quiet meal, but now things had escalated beyond her expectations.
After a brief moment of silence, she forcefully shook off both of their hands and walked out of the restaurant without looking back.
She had barely reached the elevator when Declan caught up with her. “Phoebe, it seems you never learn your lesson. If I do not teach you properly, you will never understand.”
He pulled out his phone and immediately dialed Patrick. “Find out what upcoming films and contracts Mason has, right
now.”
Before he could finish, his phone was suddenly snatched away.
Phoebe swiftly ended the call and sneered. “Declan, is this the only kind of dirty trick you know?”

Declan’s entire presence radiated coldness. His face remained emotionless as he said, “Do you think this will stop me from dealing with Mason? Unless you watch me twenty–four hours a day, I will find a way to make him disappear from the entertainment industry.”
Phoebe frowned, about to respond when Mason’s cold voice sounded from behind. “Phoebe, you do not need to interfere. I would actually like to see how Mr. Richardson plans to make me disappear.”
Phoebe turned to look at Mason and said in a low voice, “This is between him and me. I do not want to drag you into it and cause you trouble.”
It was clear that Declan was taking his anger out on Mason. Mason had worked hard for years to reach where he was now. Phoebe did not want him to lose everything because of her.
Mason smiled and said, “I am not afraid. And I do not believe Mr. Richardson can control everything with just one hand.”
Declan let out a cold laugh. “You are welcome to try and find out.”
