Having grown up with Jennifer, lan and Scott had always hoped Declan would end up with her. Although they never said it out loud, they looked down on Phoebe for having lived in a poor village until she was sixteen. In their eyes, she was not good enough for Declan.
Scott said, “Declan, now that Jennifer is back, what do you plan to do about you and Phoebe?”
Declan shot Scott a cold glance and replied with a neutral expression, “What does Jennifer’s return have to do with me and Phoebe?”
Scott frowned. “Everyone knows that you and Jennifer used to be a couple, and you”
Before Scott could finish his sentence, Declan coldly interrupted him. “Yes, we used to be a couple. Now, I only consider her a friend.”
“Then what about Phoebe? Have you started liking her?” As soon as Scott’s words left his mouth, the atmosphere between the group froze for a moment.

Scott realized he had crossed the line and wisely decided not to say anything further.
Meanwhile, in the equestrian field, Jennifer and Bianca had already found Phoebe. The two of them flanked Phoebe, one on each side.
Bianca wore a mocking expression, a barely perceptible smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. “Phoebe, is this horse hard to ride? Maybe I should help you.”
As soon as Bianca finished speaking, she raised her whip and struck the horse’s rear end hard.
The horse, startled, let out a cry and immediately bolted forward.
The two of them rode after her, their faces filled with malice, eagerly waiting for Phoebe to fall off the horse.
Phoebe’s eyes flashed with coldness. While gently pulling on the reins to calm the horse, she steered it in the opposite direction, running even farther away.
To Jennifer and Bianca, it seemed like Phoebe was panicking and running blindly. At this point, she should have steered the horse toward the stables.
Jennifer and Bianca exchanged a glance, excitement gleaming in their eyes.
They were intent on teaching Phoebe a lesson, hoping she would fall off and get seriously hurt.
The two of them chased Phoebe and eventually cornered her in a secluded area.
