Chapter 24 A Coincidental Encounter At The Bar
In a secluded private room in Bar 1949, Zevan was seated on the center couch.
He had a cigarette between two long and slender fingers, puffing away.

The swirling smoke obscured his handsome countenance, with only his deeply furrowed brows faintly visible. It was clear that he was somewhat displeased.
“Didn’t you say there’s business to be discussed? Why aren’t you getting to it?”
“Let’s put that matter aside for later. For now, we need to have some drinks and relax,” Silas said as he poured the wine. “Zev. what’s gotten into you? You’ve been smoking since you walked in. Has your newlywed wife upset you?”
While saying that, he pushed the beautiful woman beside him over. “Zev, this is a gem who has just started at Bar 1949. She’s both pretty and sexy. I’ve been saving her specifically for you. Cherry, it’s up to you whether you can feed this glass of wine to
Zev.”
Bar 1949 had always been a popular gathering place for the mafia. It was never short of beautiful women, and members of the mafia who visited for leisure spent a fortune in a single night. Of course, there was another crucial reason–it was owned by the mafia in the first place.
The mafia in Hepham consisted of four prominent families–the Lemieux, Galletti, Hotchner, and Sullivan families. Three among them were gathered that day, all of whom were very familiar with each other.
When Cherry was pushed to Zevan’s side, her innocent and pretty face instantly flushed bright red. That evening, the man was dressed in a simple black shirt and pants. The bar’s servers merely knew that they were members of the mafia but were unaware of their specific identities.
This man from the Lemieux family exudes a captivating aura of maturity and success from his very bones even when he smokes. Coupled with his flawlessly handsome face, I’m willing to keep him company even without payment.
She picked up the wine glass. With a charming smile, she purred, “Mr. Lemieux, how about a drink?”
Zevan swiftly caught a whiff of the artificial perfume on her. He cast an indifferent glance at her. “Stay away from me.”
Cherry’s beautiful face instantly went pale.
Seeing that, Silas quickly dismissed her. “Zev, you’ve abstained for so many years. Do you truly have no interest in women? Grandma has already forbidden me from seeking you out. She’s afraid you’ll fall for me, worried that you’re gay.”
At that moment, Lorenzo Galletti interjected from the side, “Zevan, I heard that the girl the Somerville family arranged for the marriage alliance is named Minerva Somerville.”
Upon hearing that name, Zevan lifted his eyes and glanced at Lorenzo.
Lorenzo was remarkably handsome, sporting a pair of sophisticated gold–rimmed glasses on his face. He took a sip of the red wine in his hand before fixing his gaze ahead. “Look who that is.”
Zevan looked up, instantly spotting a delicate figure–Minerva.
Beside her was a man, one who was extraordinarily handsome.
“D*mo it! Silas shot to his feet, pounding a hand on the table. “Zev, did you know about Minerva visiting the bar? Why does the man beside her look so familiar?
“That man is from the Somerville family, notorious for hooking up with newlywed young women,” Lorenzo explained.
“F*ck! So, they’re fooling around together?”
Snagging a bottle of wine, Silas made to charge over. He was a core member of the malia in Hepham, hardly afraid of anyone in Hepham. “Zev, I’ll teach them a lesson for you!”
Zevan glanced at him. “If you dare lay a finger on her, I’ll chop off that very hand of yours. Now, sit back down.”

Silas could only suppress his bellyful of puzzlement and take his seat again. Despite having grown up with Zevan, he dared not defy the mafia boss‘ orders.
Meanwhile, Minerva was there to meet Quincy as she promised her father. Naturally, Hazel was also present. After Minerva had messed things up previously, she wanted to see firsthand what other tricks her stepdaughter could pull off this time.
Quincy lounged on the couch with a beauty on both sides of him. Hazel nudged her brother’s arm and said, “Quincy, you can’t be angry anymore. It was Minerva’s fault the last time, but I’ve brought her here to apologize to you,”
Having said that, she gave her brother a meaningful glance.
With a cold huff, Quincy retorted, “I went to your house for a visit and to discuss some business; but your stepdaughter set a dog on me. That was simply too much. She nearly got me emasculated back then. Is that something that can be written off with a mere apology!”
After he had finished speaking, a chilling smirk appeared on his handsome face, rendering him somewhat terrifying.
