Chapter 23
Ashlee laughed and said, “Why did they side with her rather than me?”
Zane nodded.
If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he would have found it hard to believe they would treat their own sister in that way.
Ashlee grinned and said indifferently, “They might have some deep grudges and hatred towards me.”
Zane frowned, and although he didn’t understand her words, he didn’t ask any further and left it at that.
Ashlee suddenly asked, “Do you know if there is a pharmacy around here? It would be best if it sells herbs.”
Zane thought for a moment, “There is an Herb Pharmacy nearby.”
“Can you take me there?”
Ashlee needed some herbs to nurse her health. In the past two years, even though she was in prison, she had actually been trying to restore her body to the level of an ordinary person.
But it was still far from sufficient, and further conditioning was needed.
In addition, she needed to earn money.
“Are you here to see a doctor or buy some medicine?”
Ashlee directly listed a series of herbs.
The shop assistant felt at a loss after hearing the names of dozens of herbs and asked, “Are you here to stock up?“/
Ashlee replied, “How did you know that?”
The shop assistant went speechless and carefully examined Ashlee to see if she was out of her mind. Then he started to get the herbs reluctantly.
Zane didn’t expect Ashlee to buy so many herbs. Seeing the strange looks of the people around them, Zane felt a bit embarrassed.
“What on earth is on Ms. Spencer’s mind?”
On the way back, Ashlee suddenly heard someone calling her.
“Ashlee?”
A middle–aged woman with a cloth bag in her hand quickly ran over.
“Ashlee, it’s really you! You’ve been released from prison!”
Ashlee looked at her faintly, “What’s wrong?”
The woman had yellowish black skin and wore a vulgar and mean look.“Since you’ve come out, you better behave yourself. Actually, you deserved it. Luckily, my daughter’s okay, otherwise I wouldn’t let you off!”
She looked at Ashlee carefully and wondered how she could turn out more vibrant and beautiful than before after two years in prison.
