Gloria helped Averie up with a broken heart, and now Averie was back to that weak, utterly wronged, pitiful girl.
Solana couldn’t stand looking at that face for even a split second, so she walked straight up and said, “My parents‘ number? You said you’d give it to me.”
Before Averie could speak, Robert snapped, “Let her go home first. You wanna let everyone know what happened today?”
With that, he strode out.
Gloria helped Averie up and followed behind Robert.
Solana cursed under her breath. If it weren’t to get back to her parents asap, she wouldn’t put up with this crap.
Averie leaned weakly on Gloria. Just moments ago, she had endured inhuman treatment, and every step made her sweat in pain.
Just as she was about to collapse, someone reached out and supported her other side. She turned her head and saw it was Solana.
With the Webb couple around, Averie pretended to say a polite “Thanks,” though inside she blamed Solana for everything she suffered today.
Solana pursed her lips, saying casually, “It’s okay,” her gaze flickering to Averie’s pale, pain–stricken face. Watching her suffer with every step, Solana was quite satisfied.
In her previous life, Averie had her raped, caused her dad’s death, framed her for jail, and denied her the last meeting with her mom. What Averie suffered now? Far from enough!
Averie was helped into the backseat, and halfway through the drive, she passed out from the pain.
Gloria was heartbroken, crying and insisting on taking her to the hospital.
Robert, furious, honked the horn multiple times, snapping, “Taking her to the hospital means everyone will know! Do! need to explain our status in Embridge? You’re a woman, too. You know how such a thing could tarnish our name. Deal with it at home!”
Gloria cried, “Averie is your daughter. Don’t you feel the slightest bit of sorry for her?”
“I don’t feel sorry for her?” Robert gritted his teeth. “Once I find those men, I’ll make them wish they were dead!”
Sitting in the passenger seat, Solana looked indifferent. In her previous life, she received no comfort from the Webb couple after being raped, only endless curses and blame.
Slut, little bitch… All the nasty words hit her hard, almost making her pass out.
They didn’t take her to the hospital, nor did they give her any medicine. They just locked her up alone in her room, not to mention Robert ever planning to find those men to avenge her.

Finally, they arrived home.
Hana was shocked to see Averie being carried in by Robert, asking hurriedly, “What’s wrong with Miss Webb?”
Gloria stopped Hana from following upstairs and said sternly, “She just had a fall. Give the first aid kit to Solana and let her
take it up.”
Hana was a woman, too, so Gloria didn’t want her to follow and find out something fishy.
But Solana remembered from her previous life that Gloria had no qualms about being direct with Hana.
After finding out what happened, Hana started to go through the motions when delivering meals daily. Sometimes she’d skip a meal or send leftovers.
Solana obediently took the first aid kit upstairs. By then, Robert had already gone to the study to make a call, ordering his men to locate Aaron and his two lackeys.
In Averie’s room, Gloria was washing her down carefully. Averie cried out in pain as soon as Gloria touched her private part. It hurt so much.
She sobbed. “Mom, what should I do? What am I supposed to do in the future?”
Gloria shed tears too while comforting her, “Don’t worry. No one will know what happened today. Mom and Dad will arrange everything for you; this will all blow over quietly.”
Solana put down the first aid kit and saw Gloria staring at her intently.
She quickly replied, “I… I won’t say anything.”
Averie said through gritted teeth, “Mom, I don’t trust her. We can’t let her go; I need her here for now.”
Solana was left speechless, saying inwardly, ‘Not getting screwed enough? And you want me to stay? Man, you got issues.‘
Completely ignoring Solana’s feelings, Gloria said directly, “There are still some days before school starts; you’ll stay home for now.”
Solana wanted to laugh. ‘Hilarious. Did they think I’d just stay because they told me to?”
She stepped forward and asked, “Give me my parents‘ number.”
“Enough!” Gloria snapped. She looked at Averie, who was trembling all over in pain, and shouted at Solana, “Can’t you see that Averie is not feeling well right now? I’ve already told you it’s just for now. What’s the rush? Get out now!”
Thinking about how her newly found daughter had been treated inhumanely, and how they were expected to return a flawless Solana to that disgusting, shameless couple made Gloria’s blood boil.
Usually gentle, though, she took her anger out directly on Solana now.
Solana glanced contentedly at Averie, who was in so much pain that she had bitten her lips until they bled, and without a word, Solana turned and walked out.

She fished out the photo of Averie’s passport from her phone, stared at the address she had memorized inside out, and went straight downstairs.
‘They think I can’t go home without contact info? This place is so nasty I don’t want to stay here a second longer. I’m going back to my own home right now!‘ she said inwardly.
Just as Solana reached the door, two big guys blocked her way. She recognized them; they were security guards from Roberton Properties.
One of them said, “Nobody leaves without Mr. Webb’s orders.”
Solana looked around and saw that the villa was surrounded by security guards.
‘This family is still as selfish as ever. They acknowledged their daughter but kept me locked up here, too, to protect Averie’s reputation. Damn!‘ Angry, she turned around and went upstairs.
After being washed all over and taking medicine, Averie finally felt less pain. She lay in bed, feeling groggy.
Although her parents said they would keep this secret for her and find Aaron and the others to give them a lesson, these tragedies couldn’t be undone.
What she lost could never be taken back. The over an hour during which she was brutally tortured couldn’t truly be erased.
‘Wait a minute! Over an hour!‘ Suddenly, a wild guess dawned on Averie, and she struggled to sit up.
Gloria quickly held her down, saying, “What’s wrong? Don’t move. Lie down. Tell Mom what’s happening.”
At that moment, Solana came in.
Averie lunged forward instantly and grabbed Solana’s hand tightly, her eyes red with sorrow and helplessness. “I told you to meet me at ten o’clock.
“Why were you over an hour late? Did you arrive early and didn’t come in to save me on purpose? Were you just standing outside watching them bully me?”
