Chapter 6
Hanna stepped out of the car and let her husband, Ario Malfoy, go inside first.
Ario felt a bit irritated that his wife hadn’t joined him.
He asked with a hint of annoyance, “Who are you waiting for here?”
Without looking at him, Hanna replied, “A woman.”
Though Ario was still slightly displeased, he left quietly after Hanna gave him a stern look.
Hanna was waiting for Fiona.
She liked this girl.
Fiona was genuine and not pretentious. Even her efforts to impress Hanna were straightforward, and her approach made Hanna feel at
ease.
Hanna knew that Fiona wanted to get closer to Kaiden, so she didn’t mind lending a hand to help her make that connection.
However, after twenty minutes of waiting, there was still no sign of
her.
Hanna sent a message but got no response.
At that moment, Ario came out looking for her. Hanna sighed and finally followed him inside.

Ario had been called over by someone he knew.
Hanna took the chance to chat with some ladies she was familiar with.
Someone whispered, “Did you hear? Mr. Xavier actually has a girlfriend, but she’s just an ordinary girl. They’ve been together for seven years, and she still doesn’t know his real identity. They haven’t even broken up, I wonder what he’s playing at. Is he keeping her as a mistress?”
Another person responded, “Of course! Things like this happen all the time in this circle.”
Hanna’s smile faded a little.
She wasn’t really interested in hearing such gossip.
There was too much filth in this circle, but luckily, Ario remained untouched by it.
Just as Hanna was about to excuse herself and leave, she overheard a familiar name.
She turned around quickly and asked, “Did you say the girl Kaiden dumped is named Fiona Gannon?”
Hanna’s voice was loud enough for everyone in the hall to hear.
The entire hall fell into complete silence.
Ario walked over and tugged at her arm, “My wife, why are you shouting?”
Hanna pushed him away, her anger rising. “You knew about this?”

Ario stayed quiet.
Hanna realized what was happening, let out a scoff, and slapped him hard across the face. “You’ve got some nerve! I even helped you and Fiona with the collaboration, and you kept this from me. Are you feeling guilty? Just like Kaiden, do you have a mistress too?”
Ario covered his face, feeling utterly crushed. “That’s not fair!”
Hanna wasn’t interested in hearing his excuses. She shoved past the crowd and marched straight toward Kaiden.
“You bastard!
“You pretended to be poor and let that girl take care of you for seven years. You cheated on her feelings, then got married without telling her, and turned her into your mistress. How shameless can you be? Why are you even alive?”
Kaiden had never been spoken to in such a way before.
For a moment, his expression darkened.
But the next moment, Hanna’s words made him freeze in shock.
“To think last time, when Fiona asked me about you, I even warned her not to get any foolish ideas, told her you were already engaged. Turns out she was the real girlfriend all along!”
“What did you say?”
Kaiden’s face grew colder as he stared at her.
Now he understood why Fiona had been acting strangely recently.

She must have known about his lie!
His mind flashed to what had happened earlier that morning, and a
chill ran down his spine. He suddenly feared that Fiona might not be on a business trip at all and might never return.
He couldn’t accept it!
Kaiden bypassed Hanna and made his way out of the venue.
The crowd was in an uproar once again.
A security guard approached, accompanied by a delivery man in a yellow uniform, looking uneasy. He said, “Mr. Xavier, this person has an invitation and mentioned he needs to give you something.”
The delivery man showed no signs of nervousness.
He briefly glanced at the note, then passed the box over.
“Mr. Kaiden Xavier, right? Ms. Fiona asked me to bring this to you. Could you please sign for it?”
Kaiden took the box, and his heart sank to the bottom.
The wedding venue was in chaos.
Both Kaiden’s parents wore expressions as dark as storm clouds.
Before they could react, Kaiden had already opened the box.
Inside was a green emerald bracelet and a pair of very simple, plain rings, with a handwritten note on top, “Happy wedding, Kaiden.”
At that moment, a loud ringing filled Kaiden’s head, and pain shot

through his temples.
The box slipped from his hands, crashing to the ground.
The emerald bracelet shattered.
No one could see where the two plain rings had gone.
